Obituary of Mr. Bernard Shi-Ping Yen

August 16th, 1936 – December 11th, 2024

Peacefully at the age of 88 in his recliner on Wednesday. Loving father of Derek and wife Toni and Michael and wife Melissa. Devoted grandpa to Timothy, Andrew, Ethan, Nicholas and Matthew. Survived by his older brother Chung-Tat “CT” and wife Agnes, and older sister Josephine and pre-deceased by his brother-in-law Cedric.  Always cheerful, friendly and outgoing at any social gatherings and events, his vibrant and social butterfly style will be missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Bernie is now where he was always happiest, right beside his beloved late wife of over 41 years, Marlene.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 19th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Ave. E.). On Friday December 20th at Ogden Funeral Home a short visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. with a service commencing at 10 a.m. that will also be streamed (please go to Livestream tab for instructions). Cremation to follow for immediate family members.  Reception to follow at the Black Dog Pub (87 Island Road), 1-3 p.m.
