Obituary of Mrs. Jacqueline Stewart

Please share a memory of Mrs. Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jacqueline "Jackie" Stewart, on Monday, December 9, 2024, following a brief illness. Jackie was born on March 19, 1941, in Melville, Prince Edward Island, and moved to Toronto as a newlywed in 1962. Jackie was the loving wife of the late Norman Stewart; and dear mother of Ellen (Gord), Carolyn (Andy), Grant (Lucy), and Philip. She was the doting grandmother of Anthony (Stefanie), Philip (Tiffany), Carson, Thomas and Loreni; and the adored great-grandmother of Cataleya, Selina and Evelyn. Predeceased by parents, Enid and Philip Ross, and siblings, Mary, Philip, William, Douglas, John Donald, Helen, Eileen, and Donald "Donnie." Survived by loving sisters-in-law, Kay Ross and Helen MacRae. She will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mom attended Nursing School in Charlottetown, where she made lifelong friends who will also dearly miss her. She thoroughly enjoyed her work as an RNA, before becoming a full-time homemaker. Mom's greatest joy was her family. Her love, wit, warmth and strength were the foundation of our lives, and she was incredibly welcoming and opened her home up to all friends and family. She taught us resilience, perseverance, a love of music and humour, and was incredibly supportive of us all. Mom was a truly unique person and had many interests and hobbies. She was a highly skilled seamstress, photographer, storyteller, cook, handyman, technology wizard, a fierce cribbage player and avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

Our lives won't be the same without her and we are forever grateful for her love, guidance and unwavering devotion.

Visitation will be held at Ogden Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 17th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 59 Heather Road, Scarborough, on Wednesday, December 18th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Christ the King Cemetery.
