Dear Carolyn, Ellen, Grant and Philip. Over three decades ago, we had the privilege of getting to know Norman and Jackie via their annual excursions to the Ross family home in Vernon Bridge. Jackie’s sister Helen was our daughter Emily’s beloved caregiver—-but more important than that, Helen and Bill became “Nanny” and “Poppy” to Emily, and we all became “family” through the close friendships that developed. Frequent social gatherings hosted by Bill and Helen, with Mary, Donnie and Kay—-and Norman and Jackie when they were home—- are among our most precious memories. The jokes, witticisms, music and bounteous food, punctuated by hearty laughs from all concerned, will never be forgotten. Our friendship with Jackie became an essential part of holding on to the Ross connection, as we mourned Helen’s death in 2014. We will be forever grateful for modern technology which allowed us to communicate regularly and keep up on family and current events…(and, of course, the Maple Leafs…) She was so proud of her daughters and sons, and their families, and always spoke so glowingly about you. (Lorena’s recent arrival gave her great joy!) We will be thinking of you all in the days that lie ahead, and send our love and most sincere sympathy. She will be greatly missed. - Frank, Bonnie & Emily Dewar

Grant, Philip, Ellen and Carolyn:
Good friends are hard to find, hard to keep, impossible to forget-a gift if you are lucky enough to find one. Forty years or so ago, our journey as friends began. Sports was what brought us together, hockey and lacrosse and we travelled together to cities and towns all over Ontario, Ottawa, Windsor, Niagara Falls and many others as well as tournaments in the US.
Jacquie was a very unique individual, she told you how she felt and why, she had a wicked sense of humor, was loyal to those she loved and cared for. I treasure the times we got to know each other through our kids playing sports. However that friendship did not end once those days ended but continued as we shared many family moments. Covid proved very challenging to both of us, but through it all, and I must say, your mom was much better than I was at keeping in touch, phone calls, pictures, making sure I knew she was still a friend who cared.
I am sure the heavens are already feeling her presence and you can be sure that she and your Dad will be sending blessings on you and your families.
I will miss her

We have so many wonderful "Remember Whens" of Aunt Jackie.
She was always so kind, generous and welcoming. I use to get so excited when the Toronto Stewarts were coming home ( P.E.I. ) for a summer visit.
When I was 16 and had to have an operation at Sick Kids, Mom and I were so blessed to have you all to stay with.
Aunt Jackie couldn't do enough for us.
She was so helpful to Mom on the bad days at the hospital.
A few yrs.ago again I had to travel to a hospital in Ontario. Aunt Jackie went above and beyound for me.
My favorite picture of my daughter Ali was taken by Aunt Jackie. Ali ( 3 yrs.old) smelling the flowers in Mom's backyard. I have it framed and it has a special place in my home.
Yrs.ago ( before Carson & Thomas ) we had a family reunion at the Canoe Cove cottage. I have many pictures from that day but my favorite is of Aunt Jackie. Always ready with a camera or video recorder there she is. Can't see her face for the huge movie camera that she is recording the events with .
We so wish we were there with you all today & tommorow to hear all the
" Remember Whens " to pay our respects, to offer our sympathy and to share some hugs. Know that we are with you in spirit.
She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Always has.
Cousin Jill, Aunt Helen, Ali & family

I have felt Aunt Jackie's welcoming ways since I was a little girl. She took me to my first movie, The Sound of Music, which I'll never forget. In high school, while I was on a school trip, Uncle Norman kindly picked me up and brought me to their home for a visit. One of my favorite trips to Toronto was a few years ago when I visited them at their home. Aunt Jackie prepared a large spread of food, and we spent the afternoon enjoying Uncle Norman's band at a local bar. Most recently, I was blessed to spend a Saturday night with her and Ellen, which was truly special. ❤️
I have been the recipient of some of her seamstress abilities. Back in the day when cloth diapers were used with pins she made cloth diapers that were held together with velcro. She made and sent them to me for one of my children.
Even though I didn’t see her often, every time we got together, it felt as though no time had passed. She showed genuine interest in me and my children along with my siblings.
She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Love, Geri

Dear Ellen, Carolyn, Grant, Philip,
When I received the message from your Aunt Kay I was very grateful for her kindness and deeply sadden by her news. Your dear Mother and I were very good friends and dear cousins. Jackie was a very unique, kind, loving and loyal woman. WE had many happy and fun times at our Grandparents home in Vernon when we were younger. We always felt connected to one another. As you All obviously know your Mom loved you All with her heart and soul ! It is a very sad time for you, but also a very glorious time knowing what a marvelous, loving Mother you had. My love and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time, but be happy to know that it will be a very musical, joyful Christmas this year in heaven with your parents reunited and looking down with much love and pride on their four beautiful children. God bless. Merry Christmas and may your New Year be filed with wonderful blessings .I send my love and kind thoughts to All of you.

My deepest condolences to Ellen, Carolyn, Grant and Philip for the loss of their beautiful mother Jackie. To me she was Aunt Jackie. I have many fond memories of visiting her welcoming home in the mid 70's. It was a very warm and loving place. She had a sharp wit and was an excellent cook. Sadly she was taken away too soon. Jackie and Norman are reunited again in heaven. Probably listening to some of the late great Jazz musicians.... jamming away and having a blast. Rest in peace dear Aunt Jackie.
