Ruth Alexandra Williams, a devoted Catholic and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on May 23 1942, in Havana Cuba, Ruth was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Alexander and Micoline Thomas.

In 1968, Ruth married the love of her life, Robert Williams, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage before he passed away in 2020. Together, they raised two children, Tricia and Sherry, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and faith. Ruth was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, who were the light of her life.  She was a a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as a beloved sister and friend. She was also a well-loved softball mom to the Kars Aces.

Ruth was a woman of unwavering faith and strength, known for her loving and giving nature. She dedicated her life to her family and was a steadfast protector and supporter of those she loved. Her strong work ethic was evident in her 40-year career with IBM, where she mentored and touched countless lives with her dedication.

Ruth's commitment to her faith was reflected in her active participation in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, where she volunteered in numerous capacities and was a part of the Catholic Women’s League. Her generosity and kindness extended beyond her family and church, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Ruth is survived by her children, Tricia (Joe) and Sherry (Tanya); her grandchildren, Dakota, Connor, Adrianna, and Emily; and her sister, Lydia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charlie and her sister Millicent.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church on what would have been her and Robert’s 56th wedding anniversary on November 30, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Internment will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scarborough Health Network Foundation in Ruth's memory.
