Obituary of Mr. Nelson Aggrey Lyavala

Nelson Aggrey Lyavala
November 11, 1945-October 15, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, father,
and grandfather Nelson Aggrey Lyavala in Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at the
age of 78. Nelson was married to Harriet and after 28 years in Jinja, Uganda, Nelson moved to
Ottawa Ontario with his young family to fulfill his diplomatic role as an accountant for the
Uganda High Commission. After leaving his diplomatic role Nelson worked for many years in
the Finance department at the head office for Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd. in Toronto Ontario.
Nelson was a dedicated, dependable hard worker and a life learner who went on to obtain many
certifications in computer engineering technology with a focus on telecommunications. Nelson
Aggrey will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Catherine Nightingale Mukanza, Margaret
Nankya, Estella Mukanza, and his brother Yesero Mudusu. Nelson will also be greatly missed
by his two daughters Victoria Lyavala (Tahirou) and Betty Vieira (Reagan), son Justin Lyavala
(Xochilt), and his three grandchildren Michael, Alexia Vieira and Eva Lyavala. Nelson was
predeceased by his parents David Lyavala Mudusu and Estella Tusabaomu, son’s Robert and
James and daughter Lynn. Nelson Aggrey will be greatly missed by his extended family and
friends including the Ugandan community. Visitation will be on Sunday October 20 from 4-7pm
at Ogden Funeral home. Funeral service will be held Monday October 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at
Ogden funeral home 4164 Sheppard Ave East Toronto Ontario Canada, followed by a burial
service at Duffin Meadows Cemetery 2505 Brock Rd. North, Pickering Ontario Canada L1X
