A moment of silence for the passing of Aggrey Lyavala!
Aggrey was one of the pioneers of the Ugandan community in Toronto in the early 1980s. He always wore a charming smile and was easily one of the most helpful people in the community.
At a time when many of us were new and trying to find our way, he was always to be found where there was need and he both helped organize and also worked with his bare hands to get things to happen. Whether it was a wedding, student celebration, birthday party, or a funeral, Aggrey could be counted on to be on post! He was a problem solver and a details man. He was easy going and generous to a fault!
The community has indeed lost a stalwart and a sweet spirit. We thank his family for sharing him with us all. He enriched our lives greatly. He will get sorely missed but we believe he well served the purpose God put him on earth for.
Farewell brother! May Hod give you eternal peace and rest.
Grace-Edward Galabuzi

It's clear that he had a profound impact on those around him, and his warm smile and radiant personality have left a lasting impression on me. Remembering fond memories like meeting him at the pawn shop and experiencing his welcoming nature can be a comforting way to honor his legacy. May his memory continue to inspire and uplift us all.
