Obituary of Marian Bautista Gallardo-Woodall
It is with great sadness that the family of Marian Gallardo-Woodall is announcing her passing on September 29th, 2024 at the age of 49 following a battle with lung cancer. Born in Bataan Philippines in 1974, Marian embarked on her academic journey and success attending the University of the Philippines studying Journalism.
While in the Philippines Marian worked for a PR firm traveling around Asia sparking her passion for travel and history. In 2001 Marian took a major step in life and moved to Canada to start a new chapter in her life. While she was separated from her family, they were always on her mind in what she did and how hard she worked. In 2004 she became a Canadian citizen and was able to sponsor her family so they could join her in Canada.
In 2006 she began her next chapter in life by joining RBC and starting her prosperous career that would last 20 years. Marian would work her way up from the ground up to become a manager of a team all while going to school and supporting the family. It is here where Marian would find her soulmate and loving husband Matthew. Marian and Matthew would spend time traveling all over Canada, the US and then eventually overseas enjoying their shared passion of traveling. Taking in the sight, history and most importantly the food. Marian alway enjoyed trying new foods, whether it was spicy, savory and especially sweet! When not traveling Marian developed a new passion for baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays. She would never miss a game, win or lose she would watch, cheer or scream but she loved them all the same while wearing Blue Jays and Hello Kitty gear.
