Marian was an incredibly kind and caring person. When I met Marian, almost 14 years ago, she immediately welcomed me into the family and treated me as her sister. When we got married during the pandemic, we were only allowed two guests and we were honoured to have Matt and Marian as our witnesses. At every family event, we were guaranteed to have fun and a great laugh together. Marian, I will miss your laughter, reels and side hugs the most. Love you, Tara

The last couple of weeks I spent with my sister were very special. We spent a lot of time together. During this time, her ability to communicate was limited and because of how much we were together, we naturally developed a sixth sense for this. She would shoot me a glance and I would know exactly what she wanted, she would start a sentence then I would end up reading her lips and finish it. It’s very special that even though we spent a lot of time in silence, I have never felt more of a deeper connection with her that I will continue to carry with me.
It was also very special since I saw her strength displayed first hand that she kept fighting everyday, continuing to be the example of being a big sister. And when she was done showing how strong she was and it was time to rest, I would come close to her as she would tell me that I hold her hand so that she could go to sleep soundly. Well Ate, we are all touched and lifted by your strength and now we are all the ones holding your hand. And now you can rest, we love you, we will miss you, and you are in our hearts forever. Love, Mark

Ate, Mark and I had a happy childhood. I remember the times when we would ask Ate to push our bike during our turns and she would oblige. After that, we would go to our garden and pick from the Santan flowers to get the small middle part which was supposedly sweet. During Friday nights, we would stay in Ate's room to watch tv and then have a midnight snack afterwards. Of course it was not always fun and games. Ate was also strict to me and Mark. What rules Mom and Dad would set, Ate would enforce. It was a nice balance and it worked for us.
Ate looked out for me and Mark, and also Mom and Dad. Even when Ate moved to Canada by herself, she was thinking about us. It was tough but it turned out really well. She came back to the Philippines just once and it was for our wedding in 2009. Fourteen years later, we saw each other again and she met our kids for the first time. It was a great feeling for all of us and something we will never forget. Thank you very much for everything, Ate. It breaks my heart that you are not with us anymore. I love you so much and we will always pray for you. Love, Dong

I still can't believe that Ate Marian is no longer with us. It was just four months ago that our family was able to go to Canada and spend time with the whole Gallardo family. It was the first time Ate Marian met our children in person. The boys loved their Ninang Marian and she treated them like her own, spoiled them to some extent. She even told me that we can leave our kids with them one summer and Uncle Matt will teach them how to ride a bike. It was also during this trip that I was able to know more about Ate Marian as we chatted non-stop on our way to Niagara and back to Toronto. I told my husband that the next time we go to Canada, I'd like to bond with her more because there are still a lot of things to talk about. It's heartbreaking that these will no longer happen, but I thank God that even just for a short time, we were able to make memories together. Sorry, Ate Marian, that we are not there today and during your most difficult days. We love and miss you. You are always in our prayers. Love, Winggy

Ninang Marian was kind, caring, playful and overall a good person. I remember when I first met her we were all so happy to finally meet. We played together, we talked to each other and we had so many good memories together like when we went to Universal Studios, Mont Tremblant and Old Montreal where she bought me my favorite stuffed toy. All of those memories, all of those good times and every moment with her I will never forget and I will cherish them forever. I love you, Ninang Marian. Love, Maze

Ninang Marian was really fun. She played with us a lot and gave us a power band so we could get the full experience in Universal Studios in LA. Even though we were not able to meet her that much, when we met her she made us do a lot like going to Montreal and giving me a model F1 car of my favorite team. We also went to Niagara-on-the-lake and Niagara Falls, it was really awesome and looked so nice. All of us staying in one house was really cool and I had a great time. Thank you for even the Canada trip. It was only for a month but we were able to go to a lot of amazing places. Even spending time with her was super good and memorable. I love you Ninang and thank you. Love, Mac

Hi ninang Marian, I miss you so much. I miss sending you Instagram videos and I miss having face times, and there is so much more that I wish we could have done together, like watching more baseball games or going skiing, but I will cherish the memories we made during our one month together in Canada and LA. We have only been meeting each other through video call before then, and the trip more than made up for it. I will forever remember our trip to universal and super mario world, the blue jays game we watched, our trip to Mont-Tremblant, our trip to niagara falls, staying in your house, and even just talking to you. Thank you for the gifts, the laughs, and the memories. I miss you, I love you, and I will never forget you. Love, Mico

How blessed are we to have someone who makes saying goodbye so difficult. We do not want to say good bye, instead we’re saying “Until we meet again” and when we do… “death shall be no more; neither shall be anguish, nor grief, nor pain.” There will only be happiness and high tea, our most favourite thing to do together. We love you Aunti Marian ❤️ Rina, Anne and Lexi xoxo

How to describe Marian is beyond measure.
Marian is heart-warming, generous and down to earth. She is quiet, has a great strength and resolute. She is dedicated and hard working, always going above and beyond. She always has a smile for everyone.
Marian has brought great joy in our family and in marrying Matthew. I’m very proud to call Marian my daughter-in-law. She is very sweet, modest, wonderful, beautiful and down to earth.
Marian is the love of Matthew’s life, very cherished. They are together in all aspects of life, enjoy traveling and family gatherings. There were lots of laughs, celebrations and happiness all around them.
Marian was thrilled to be called Auntie to our newest member of the family Maddie. The expression on her face while holding Maddie was very endearing, there was an unspoken bond between them. There was so much love that Maddie always wanted Auntie Marian. She was her #1 Auntie, everyone else didn’t count. Marian never refused in playing or sitting down to read, cuddle and talk with Maddie. She will be dearly missed by Maddie but never forgotten.
Marian was an adventuress in more ways than one. She was a dedicated foodie always willing to try something new. Marian blended with our family in this way and more.
Marian loves baseball, her energy is so big like a shockwave. You can’t help but cheer along side with her.
Marian was brave and a fighter to the end. She was so loved through the tough times with Matthew cheering her on. She did not leave here alone with her family by her side. Marian knew we all loved her so dearly. I know in my heart that Marian heard us and left peacefully.
We will always have Marian in our thoughts, love and cherished in our hearts.

Condolences to Matt, the Gallardo family and everyone who knew Marian well. We were high school classmates and shared many fun and happy childhood memories together. Marian had an awesome singing voice. So we usually participated in the Glee club and various shows in high school. Marian, wherever you are now , you will be missed. Rest in peace in God's loving arms.

Marian was not only the best sister in-law but also an amazing Auntie and Godmother to Maddie. No one else mattered when Auntie Marian was there. P're (short form of "pare") that's how we used to call each other.
P're determines how long our conversations would go.
A serious P're means business talk or just to acknowledge each other on a busy day.
P're followed by a mild swear word and we talk about funny, silly, gossipy things.
P're followed by an intense swear word and we talk about frustrating, ridiculous sometimes sad personal or work topics.
We've had quite a few memories - from badminton games, brunches and dinners outside work.
But what sticks the most are the times we took bathroom breaks together at work.
Thinking the cubicles were safe for speaking our language.
A lot of times we pretended hair or eyeliner touch-ups when people would walk in on us.
We worked late many nights and stayed a little later to pick up the conversation we had the previous bathroom break.
Ah...if walls could talk.
Oh how you try to hold back your tears in difficult times but freely cry when you laugh too much.
How you always had a cup of coffee, a little hand gesture across your face, a sigh and a shrug and there you go ready to face another challenge. Your way of saying "Life goes on".
Your patience is immense, your heart so big. You will be sorely missed.
To Matthew and the Gallardo family, my deepest sympathies. Heaven has gained another angel.
P.S.
P're, kape pa lang sa umaga, naalala na kita.
P're p*cha, paano yan? Bukas sana ulit pero...hanggang sa muli.
Pahinga ka na.

Marian was a steady presence and a constant source of friendship at every stage of my life - throughout elementary and highschool as Bridgetines, sharing and surviving summer classes at UP Diliman, navigating the early days of our careers, and finally settling into life and love here in Canada.
I will always remember Marian for her infectious laughter, her brilliant humour, her dedication to family as a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and wife. I am blessed to have been able to share some of the most memorable days of my life with her -- introducing me to Schwartz's deli in Montreal for the first time, cheering me on even as i faceplanted on the bunny hill, sharing with us the absolute wonder of looking up at dark skies, watching each other walk down the aisle to forever. but most importantly, i am grateful for her support in my darkest hours.
Marian, thank you for 40 years of friendship. I will miss you dearly.
Tony and I would also like to express our sincerest condolences to the Gallardo and Woodall families. We share in their sorrow and prayers for Marian's eternal rest.

My childhood and teenage memories will always include her glowing face, beaming smile and enviable hair ;). I met Marian when she started 4th Grade at St. Bridget School. She was immediately well-liked. I was fortunate to sit next to her in highschool. Those who know her know she can chat you up. The days were filled with her life updates and her funny comments on mine. Even after I moved, we were still connected.
When I first came back in 1999, Marian was there to welcome me back. In 2016, we reconnected in Canada. Those times were short but definitely sweet.
It just dawned upon me that those were times when I was in grief from losing family members. Marian simply showing up made life feel better. Thank you, friend.
My heart is full having known you. I am strengthened knowing your kind spirit is with us.

Her big smile and her cheerful personality will always be remembered.. no matter how much work she had, she always had time for you. She will be greatly missed.. Rest in peace Marian...

Matt and family. This unimaginable loss is just so terrible. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you.
I loved working with Marian and also with all of the Woodall family.
My thoughts are with all of you in this very difficult time. May warm memories bring you peace in your grief.
Maureen Flagler - RBC.
