Heartfelt condolence is extended to Margaret, Kwame Damon, Donna, Denise and other family members, on behalf of my dear Wife Cicely, myself and family, my twin Brother Malcolm and his family, and members of The Tutorial High Alumnae/i Association (Toronto Chapter).
My friendship with Danny dates back to our boyhood when he spent his August school vacations in Buxton Village at the home of one of his maternal uncles. His cousin, Louis Jarvis, lived immediately north of me, and he stayed west. We spent many afternoons playing cricket in my backyard.
Malcolm and I preceded Danny at Tutorial High School and we kept in touch in Georgetown, and whenever he visited with relatives in Buxton. I distinctly remember him spending most of the famous 80-Day strike of 1962 in Buxton, participating in various political and social activities. Through a twist of fate, Malcolm moved to Georgetown in the area where Danny lived, and thus our contact continued.
To Danny I owe significant gratitude for his assistance in my adjustment consequent to migrating to Canada in 1998. He introduced me to many of his friends, all of whom accepted me with cordiality. Outstanding among them was George Myers. We all met regularly on Friday afternoons at the tailor shop of the late Aubrey Roberts and soon became known as 'The Friday Club', earning repute for our 'spirit full' discussions of topics related to Guyana.
Danny was one of the early members of The Tutorial High Alumnae/i Association, and had been serving on its Executive for many years, and including the time of his passing. He worked tirelessly on behalf of the organisation, for which he would be gratefully remembered. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues.
Proud of his Guyanese/Buxtonian heritage, Danny kept in touch with related happenings, especially politics. Everso often he would send me reports, mostly accompanied by glowing comments or harsh criticism, regarding an incident or personality. He made clear his commitment to 'giving back' to his country/village/school, and he supported functions hosted by 'The Committee To Assist Buxton/Friendship (COTAB)'. In these social activities, he was accompanied by Margaret.
I am truly happy that among my memories of shared experiences with Danny, is the afternoon during Tutorial's 2014 International Reunion when we returned to my parent's property in Buxton and had some delicious 'metagee (ground provisions) washed down with coconut water'.
There are several other occasions illustrating Danny's various moods and attitudes, which defy erasure. For example, the pride which he exuded at the release of Kwame's award-winning documentary
'Soul On Ice: Past, Present and Future'.
I think that I can say, with much confidence, that most persons who had the good fortune to relate to Danny, are/were happy that they did, and were struck by his ready wit and helpfulness.
May Danny Rest In Peace And His Memory Evoke Joy.

On behalf of the Blair family, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Danny's wife Margaret, his children, his grandchildren and other loved ones. It is unimaginable how his sudden illness and passing must be affecting all of you. I hope the precious memories of a lifetime will serve to keep him close at heart.
Danny is a beloved cousin of my late husband, Brentnol Blair. He is well known to us as a jovial, young-at-heart personality , always with a bright smile. Brentnol loved and respected Danny and enjoyed his company, especially during his illness. When Danny visited, there would be lively conversations ranging from Guyana politics, to the economy, to people dynamics, and how best to solve the world's problems. It was laughable the way they thought they had all the solutions. I was always amazed by Danny's effortless sense of humour. He had an unexpectedly funny and candid way of expressing himself, a personality trait that made him so endearing.
Danny talked a lot about family. On one of his visits he showed me his collection of family pictures, old and new, that he had downloaded to his phone so that they will always be at his fingertips. He proudly pointed them out as he recalled little stories about them. His love and appreciation shone through. I'm sure he will be missed by many.
Rest Peacefully Danny....
Much Love & God Bless.
Joan Blair & Family..

My sincerest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife, daughters, sons and grand children. From my family and friends. I met Danny in the late 70's and have known him to be very amicable. We were also involved in an investment group. I saw him on the 17th at a wake, had a long conversation and was hoping to see him at the subsequent funeral that Wednesday, 21st August. It never happened, because of the stroke. Rest in peace my brother. Until we meet again.

Danny was a very good friend of mine, whom I respected greatly and was fun to be around with.
I remember Danny and I, walking to school together back in Guyana. We both attended Turtorial High and the memories of us and our school friends are endless, memories I will cherish and hold dear to my heart.
Danny, you will be greatly missed by my family and myself. I appreciate our friendship all of these years with you.
Rest in peace my brother.
Love from: "Dingwall" and family.
