Reverend Frederick J. Foley, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Toronto, at the age of 80 and in his 51st year of priesthood.  Father Foley was Associate Pastor at St. Martin of Tours in Mississauga, St. Benedict’s Parish in Etobicoke, St. Clare’s Parish in Toronto, St Lawrence Martyr Parish in Scarborough, St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish in Toronto, St. Gregory the Great Parish in Oshawa, Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Scarborough and St. Bartholomew’s Parish in Scarborough. He was Administrator at Guardian Angels Parish in Orillia. He was Pastor at St. Joseph’s Parish in Mississauga and oversaw the building of a new St. Joseph Church on the current site. He was Pastor at St. Bartholomew’s Parish in Scarborough. Father retired on June 26, 2019 and was living in Scarborough.  He is predeceased by his parents, Claude and Jeanette Foley, of Alberton, PEI.  Much loved brother to Ada and her husband Rod Angevaare and the late Paula Burgener.  Father Fred is survived by his brother-in-law John Burgener, his and Paula's daughters Mirah and Ariana Burgener, niece Jenny Zylstra, her husband Jamie and their children Madeline, her partner Shawn, Grace, her husband Rayden and Gabe and niece Rebecca Angevaare, her husband Dave Bergevin and their daughter Isabella.  Father Fred will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends,  parishoners and colleagues.  May his soul rest in eternal peace.  Visitation at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt on Sunday May 26 from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m., continuing on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at HOLY SPIRIT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3526 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough.  Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at Queen of Clergy Cemetery at St. Augustines Seminary.  Reception to follow at Ogden Funeral Home.
