Obituary of Mr. Michael Thrush

Michael Thrush, 73, of Kirkfield, Ontario, died March 28, 2024, in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.  

He was born on February 19, 1951, to James and Gladys Thrush in Toronto. 

Mike attended Charles O'Bick Police College. He was awarded the Police Exemplary Service medal in 1991.

He married Irene Thrush (nee Kuehner) on March 9, 1974 and they had two children, Ben & Karen.

He worked as a Police Officer, and retired from the Toronto Police in 1996.  In his retirement he ran a landscaping business with his children.  He enjoyed boating and walks with his wife and dog, Hannah.  He was an avid collector of landscaping equipment and an enthusiastic killer of boat batteries. He will be missed by his lifelong friends and family.

Mike is survived by Irene, Ben (Jen), Karen Savenije (Koen), his brother Greg (Judith), and grandchildren Ava, Ollie and Max.  

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Gladys Thrush (nee Brookman).   

Viewing will be held on Sunday April 7, 2024 2-5pm at Ogden Funeral Home at 4164 Sheppard Ave East in Scarborough.
