To Mark and Sharon’s family, my name is Sharon Barrow. I am so saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. Sharon was one of my best friends in school. We lost touch when I migrated to the UK but I never forgot her and always hoped to see her one day. I found out today. I remember her as the sweetest, kindest person. She was just lovely. Sending hugs to all of you. It’s just not fair. Xx

My name is Sophia, but to Sharon and the Campbell family, I am Cousin Sophie. A name they lovingly gave me when I was a child. A name I am so honored to hold to this day. I met Sharon through her cousin Ave and Ave’s daughter Lesley, my best friend since childhood. Growing up, I was often at Ave’s house for all types of family gatherings. It was there I had the honor of meeting and growing close to Sharon along with her wonderful family, Dawn, Mark, Shamayne, Josh, and Brianna.
When the Campbell’s realized I went wherever Lesley went, they started to invite me to their homes and gatherings too...lol. And who do you think was the first one to officially “adopt” me into the family? That’s right, Sharon! She would introduce me to extended family and friends as “our adopted Cousin Sophie”…the name took, and soon all of the family would refer to me this way. I had the privilege of being on certain family email chains, invited to intimate and large gatherings, and – my favorite – just hanging out for casual weekend bbq’s and dinners. My childhood and young adult years are filled with so much love, joy, and laughter because of this special time in my life and the treasured relationships that were formed.
As many of you have experienced in your own unique ways, Sharon and I connected right away. She had a way of making each person she interacted with feel loved, special, and that they mattered. This quality alone is a testament to who she was as a person. She truly was salt and light – preserving relationships, giving a burst of flavor to anything she was involved in, and illuminating everywhere she went. Sharon was always a smiling and joyous person, but when she met and eventually married her love, Andy, she glowed even brighter. I’m so grateful to Andy for coming into her life.
Eventually, Sharon and I would come to work together at Warner Bros. and boy was it fun going to work each day! Besides laughing until our bellies ached, we would often compliment each other on our outfits and purses, trade style secrets, share personal matters, and look forward to the next family gathering. As the kids (Shams & Josh) grew up, we started to become close as well and I had the honor of being one of many sources of support to them when their beloved mom, Dawn, passed unexpectedly. At that time, I, like so many others, got to witness Sharon rise up and step into a mothering role as she put her arms around those children and nurtured and loved them like her own. It was a beautiful thing, and the best way to honor Dawn’s memory.
The fact that I’m writing a tribute to Sharon now feels unreal and painful to me. My biggest and only comfort is knowing she is whole again and blissfully reunited with her sister, her dad, and other loved ones. This, after all, is the reason Jesus came, died on the cross, and rose again. So that we could have eternal life in Him, free of pain and suffering. Sharon, I love you and will always miss you, and I can’t wait to see you on the other side when it’s time.
All my love, Cousin Sophie xoxoxo

A tribute to my dear Friend Sharon Alison Wray.
In the Bible…The “Rose of Sharon” signifies the beauty, excellence, and preciousness of Christ. Just as a rose captivates with its vibrant colors, delicate petals, and sweet fragrance, today we celebrate the extraordinary life of my first childhood loyal and devoted friend Sharon Alison Wray.
Sharon and I were friends from the age of four and we both attended St. Gabriel’s Convent of the Good Sheppard in Georgetown Guyana. From the innocent laughter of childhood to the shared dreams of adulthood, we navigated life’s challenges as we chased our individual dreams, goals, and desires.
Sharon lived a life with purpose, passion, and profound love. She touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness knew no bounds and her generosity boundless.
Sharon had an infectious laugh that could lighten up the darkest room and she taught me the value of loyalty, true friendship and the strength that lies in vulnerability. We shared a lot of fun times together...if I listed them all we would be here all day… I recall fondly one time when we visited New York and took a trip to Atlantic City…We were not gamblers ...so instead of using our hard earned money to buy chips. We went shopping for shoes instead…
Sharon made the best chocolate eclairs ever…she taught me how to bake…I am going to miss her so much. I am grateful for so many shared wonderful memories.
As we bid farewell to a wonderful person, let us continue Sharon’s legacy. the importance of family & friendships and the beauty of kindness.
To Andy her beloved husband and her family, may you find comfort in each other and know that her memory will forever be etched in your hearts and a guiding light in the darkness.
Thank you!

Remembering Sharon Wray
She always had a wonderful smile and greeted me with her friendly hug each time we meet at family gatherings.
Every Christmas she gave me her delicious homemade buttery short bread cookies, a real Christmas treat for me to enjoy.
Sharon was a very kind, caring and wonderful person that we'll all miss very much.
She is now in heaven with her sister Dawn and hopefully get to meet my wife Connie. That's now three guardian angels to watch over us.

To the Campbell and Wray families,
It was with great sadness that we learnt of Sharon passing. Sharon was a beautiful person both outside and in, Sharon was also warm and welcoming and made you feel comfortable very quickly. Her last few years have been quite challenging and although it is difficult for us all, it is time for her to take her rest which she so much deserves.
May she be granted eternal peace.

My Heartfelt Condolences go out to Sharon’s entire family.
I met Sharon in the ‘80s always a cheerful smile. We hang out together until she left Guyana. We linked up again when I came to visit Canada, on my first winter visit she made sure I had a warm jacket and then said ok I have errands to run let go, I soon got climatize to the cold as we went from store to store. Sharon had a very positive outlook on life, especially health wise and didn’t let it hinder her, she would say girl this is how it is don’t get scared. , I will miss you my dear friend, but the memories we shared will live on in my heart.
Sleep in Peace.

It is fitting that I follow Greg Collins' preceding tribute to Sharon, as I met her, Mark and the Campbell family through them - during our visits and holiday stayover at the GTL compound. Years later, we met up again in Toronto where we would all be at the range of GY/WI socials, Caribana events, the occasional clubbing in Buffalo NY.. the list goes on. Sharon was always the same from childhood to adulthood -that caring smile and endearing personality was always there through the years. RIP dear Sharon, we are all that much better having known you.

Dear family of Sharon,
I was stricken by the news of Sharon’s passing. I have fond memories of the time we spent as neighbors in Guyana Timbers (GTL) Houston compound where our fathers were managers.
We spent time together during our formidable high school years on their veranda overlooking the Demerara river. Big boat coming! I used to hang out with her brother Mark getting into a lot of mischief. Often Sharon would join in and we would gaff and giggle into the evening and on weekends. Sharon would join in and we would listen to LPs playing Sargent Pepper, Bee Gees , Michael Jackson and Saturday Night fever. I remember her late sister Dawn teaching (trying) me to dance hold on slow dance. Sharon would make chip-chip sugar cake, butter flap and other tasty treats to share with us. I later learned that Sharon was inspired in part with her culinary skills influenced by my mother Joan’s party treats and cake decorating lessons.
I only met her once again in Toronto many years ago, and now regret not keeping in touch after we resettled in Ottawa and the Campbell's moved to Toronto. I will always remember her unforgettable smile with those dimples, and a hearty welcoming laugh that would put you at ease.
Deepest condolences to her husband Andy, brother Mark, mother Teresa, and loved ones. It’s a terrible loss at such a young age. May she rest in eternal peace.
Greg Collins and family.

Heartfelt condolences to the Campbell family on the loss of Sharon. We worked together (with Dawn also) at RBC Guyana, where we discovered that we were related. Sleep well, Beautiful Girl! I can't think of our teenage years without a memory of you. We will always remember - that sweet smile, the shining eyes, you were always so cheerful and fun to be around. It's hard to believe you've left this earth so young. I am grateful (all of the Lee Family too) for our happy, precious memories of time spent with you. Sincere and deepest condolences to your family, and all who knew and loved you.

I met Sharon at 7.30pm on 25th September, 2023. By 8pm we were friends. Her smile was luminous, as was her personality. At the end of the evening, she told me she felt me in her heart. I knew what she meant. I felt the same.
I’m so glad to have been part of Sharon and Andy’s London experience last autumn. Sharon’s excitement and enthusiasm as we wandered around the West End brought a freshness to sites I’d taken for granted as a lifelong Londoner. Her zest for life was contagious. She was such fun!
We exchanged several messages after she went back to Canada. The last was on Christmas Day, when we wished each other the best for the coming year.
Very few people have touched me so deeply after knowing them for such a short time. But then Sharon was special. Her warmth, strength and sense of fun will be remembered with love by all those who knew her. I’m blessed to be one of those people.
My heartfelt condolences go to Andy and the rest of Sharon‘s family for their loss.
Goodbye, dear Sharon. Rest in peace.

Sharon was beautiful inside and out. She lived life to the fullest. She loved unconditionally, especially her wonderful family. She lit up a room with that incredible smile and hugged like no one else. We shared a love for cooking and exchanged many great recipes over the years…which I still make to this day. She was loved deeply and will be missed beyond words.
