Zia, my heart is broken that the world is without such a beautiful person. I remember all the summers that we would visit with you, pulling up into your driveway, waiting for your arms to wrap around me and squeeze so tightly. I felt so safe. My memories of you up before dawn, beginning your bread, starting breakfast, and you barely eating before lunch needed to be started. All of those memories are etched in my mind, strong and solid. And I remember the joy on my father's face to be with his sister. His beloved Caterina. You were always his strength and his guidance.
Thank you for your quiet and sage wisdom, and for that beautiful smile and soulful eyes that told me a life's story without uttering a word. I carry you with me. Always.

Caterina was a wonderful and generous Mom and Nonna. She always had that beautiful smile for which she will be remembered. Her love for her family was reflected in her tireless baking and cooking which will be memories kept forever. I remember the Angel Wings she sent to Windsor at Christmas.
Her journey is completed and now she is at rest.
