Obituary of Mrs. Katharine Goddard
Katharine Mauricea Goddard passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of October 24th , 2023.
Born into the Southwell family, Katharine was raised in St Catharine’s with five rambunctious older brothers, whose antics she would enjoy regaling her family with. Katharine met and married Colin at the ages of 18 and 19, and a year thereafter their son Lance was born.
The young family moved to Scarborough, and Katharine started her career in finance as a clerk. She eventually worked her way up to becoming a financial officer at CMHC. She was highly respected within the corporation from coast to coast.
In 1991, Katharine discovered her passion for adventure: taking her first solo cruise. She was hooked and convinced Colin that this was the only way to travel and see the world. Over the years they visited more than 80 countries, covering six continents. Through her sharp wit and charisma, Katharine easily made friends wherever she went.
Katharine was pre-deceased by her son Lance, and is survived by her loving husband Colin, daughter-in-law Jane, and grandsons Ethan and Cameron.
She will be dearly missed, and fondly remembered.
