Obituary of Mrs. Carmel Agatha Grant "Sister Grant"
Carmel Agatha Grant, affectionately known as Sister Grant, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023 surrounded by family at Scarborough General Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1931 in St. Mary, Jamaica.
She is predeceased by her husband Patrick Grant, father, Fredrick Mills, mother, Jane Noble-Oliphant, brother Aston Oliphant, grandson Claydon Grant.
She is survived by all her children. Daughters, Patricia, Sylvia, Alma, Beverley and sons, Martin and Vincent. Her brothers Cornelius & Ballantine. She will be forever missed by her cherished grandchildren Yasheca, Kai, Lemoy, Keron, Chris, Rikoy, Claudeen, Soshanna, Steven, Jason, Antoine, Dwayne, Taneisha, Chris, Lemar, Serenity and her 17 great-grandchildren.
Sister Grant was passionately dedicated to her family and her Christian faith. She attended the Scarborough Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Scarborough, Ontario where she served as a member of the Community Services, Women's Ministry and earlier years on the Seniors choir. She was one of the founding member of the Needhampen Seventh-Day Adventist Church in St. Thomas, Jamaica.
In her honour, in lieu of flowers, donation maybe made to the Scarborough Seventh-Day Adventist church.
