Mrs. Twells was a virtuous, caring and compassionate woman. After the passing of my father, she made it her business checking that my sister and I was doing well and we will always cherish the memories of her kindness to us. She was one of the few persons that still called us by the nicknames our father gave to us(Sir John and Florence Nightingale)followed my her infectious laugh, will miss it.
May the family, forever Cherish the long and blessed memories of
Mrs Twells.
May her soul traverse peacefully to be with the Ancestors. RIEP!

Aunti Viola was my father Henry’s only sister. For most of my life I heard stories about her and knew they were very close and wrote to each other regularly. My father wanted Viola to meet his children and in 1979 I visited my aunt and stayed with for 7weeks in Manchester avenue st kitts. She was very kind to me and I had a lovely time with her Trevor and Junior.
I remember crying at the airport before I left.
Over the years we continued our a friendship.
I was so happy to have been able to spend sometime with her before her death. God blessed her with many years.
Although my father died 19 years ago now I know he would be very sad to hear of her death and send his condolences. He would want to tell her he loved her. I am doing this for him and me and the rest of my brothers and sisters.

A woman of quiet strength and calm demeanour who taught her children and those who were acquainted with her that you can be calm and still be firm. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31 verse 27... "she looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness." Mrs. Twells was always busy doing something- washing, ironing, cooking or cleaning, she kept herself busy all day and scarcely complained of being unwell.
As a good neighbour, Mrs. Viola Twells was always there to lend a helping hand and shared the produce from her yard, especially the grafted mangoes and breadfruit, with our family. She and our mom, the late Lucina Clarke, shared a special bond and they always looked out for each other. That relationship has been passed down and today the children of both women are still in touch with each other even though miles apart.
Mrs Twells has lived a long and exemplary life. We will miss her smile, her encouraging words and her infectious laughter. We thank God for lending her to us for 102 years and 24 days. We will miss her but she is in a better place. May her soul repose in eternal peace!

Mother Twells only knew how to smile ,even in the midst of adversity. In many conversations with her , I never heard her complaining of her fate , her life, her growing infirmity or even the Winter Weather. She had so many pleasant stories of her life and adventures that she just did not have time for complaints. She took everything with a smile and a laugh. She was very independent but never arrogant or refusing a kind gesture . We are all the richer for having crossed paths with her. Her spirit lives on.
