We will miss our dear friend Cyril whom we’ve known for over for over 60 years. When Elizabeth and I were “dating” each other, Cyril lived next door and we frequently exchanged stories that always made us laugh.
Our friendship developed and grew closer in Canada, Barbados and Grenada.
Cyril and Carol would always share their tremendous hospitality and how could we ever forget the wonderful times we had together.
With warm regards always for Carol and the entire family,
From their friends for life,
Elizabeth and Bill..y King

In memory of Cyril Bryan:
I am very sorry to hear that Cyril is no longer with us. Cyril was a wonderful and very accomplished person. Unfortunately, we never got to meet in person, but we had very memorable conversations about Guyana and its politics via Zoom and WhatsApp over last few year. Cyril was also very supportive of my advocacy and commentaries on Guyanese politics, which he gladly published on Guyanese Online. We both also shared the same love for good music. Cyril had a big heart and I could feel how much he cherish his wife Carol and his children. I will always hold dear his memory and he will have a special place in my heart. I am also sending my condolences to his wife, who he loved so dearly, and to his children, which were the pride of his life. May he rest in peace!

Cyril ‘Cy’ Bryan
The celebration of someone’s life comes after an active presence is stilled by the predictability of the human experience. As we think of Cy at this time, I do acknowledge not being fully ready for his forward home walk. We communicated in recent years on many aspects of living experiences. He conveyed a measured, thoughtful vibrancy when we were connected through his trailblazing publication of Guyanese Online. I gained a Big Brother whose legacy will enrich my life forever.
Cy – I always called him Cyril – was a mentor whose astute observations and intellectual acuity were demonstrated in a range of circumstances. Among the subjects are entrepreneurship; community service; literary expression; and innovative considerations of information technology. His accomplishments had an outstanding feature in social media. He conceptualized, developed, and maintained Guyanese Online in a commendable format for over a decade which defines him as a sage. For this, many in the Guyanese Diaspora are grateful.
In his trailblazing role he established a landmark contemporary electronic facility that has commendable, balanced characteristics even in its journalism mode. Lifelong entrepreneurial instincts and perceptions of societal opportunities encouraged deep thoughts and plans for engagement of our two entities. Many a conversation left me highly motivated to merge our business expertise to serve our compatriots and others.
Our operating practices are based on distinctive offerings that distill the accumulation of news and information. What would be presented must be insightful without being pontifications. Our voices must be principled and independent but not necessarily contradictory. Cy agreed that our readership must be informed using technology from a trustworthy source. He had a focus on the latter elements. The successes he achieved while on the departure lounge confirmed what were his change-maker attributes of decades.
Although we can’t talk, Cyril, I will always hear your voice.

It was with a heavy heart that I read Carol’s WhatsApp message on the morning of July 27, 2023 informing me of the passing of her dear husband Cyril. Cyril was my friend and brother for just under 10 years, after we met in Grenada. We shared many memorable times, whether it was at my home or his, liming at some other friend, or at the beach, and most especially Dodgy Dock. I will miss our camaraderie and conversations on life, most often over a few drinks. Most of all I will miss his joyful, and at times, carefree spirit. He regaled me with many tales of his “adventures” through life, many of which made me feel a touch of envy, but in an admirable way. To Carol, their children Shannon and Gavin, and his grandson Grayson, of whom he was very proud, I extend sincere condolences on behalf of myself and family. God speed

I had the pleasure of meeting both Cy and Carol a couple years ago. During this period they both became more than friends, my husband and I count them as family.
When Cy left Grenada a couple months ago for his medical check up, I never did imagine he would never be back to the place he loved so much.
Cy, as I affectionately called him as many more did, was a true gentleman, a kind soul, sympathetic, generous, loved a good joke, caring, always looking out for the needy and saw the best in everyone. He was always there to give good advice.....he was my friend, my confidon with whom I could discuss just about anything.
My dear Carol and family, please accept our heartfelt condolences. He's gone but will never be forgotten.
May his soul rest in peace.

I first met Cyril (Cy) in October of 2020 through a mutual friend Maria. He was very warm friendly and hospitable and treated me like he had know me for years....
He also also talked with us about life... I remember him saying you have to write your vision down. The overall goal, then broken down into simpler steps or processes with a time line.
I will always remember how happy he was to have invade his space as we would frequently visit on long weekends or Sunday drives up to "the country" the northern part of the island. He would talk about his wife Carol and his family in Canada with warm affection.
Cyril will be greatly missed by many as i am sure he touched many lives. I count myself as lucky, being one of them. The fun, the laughter and the times shared with him are memories which will be forever etched in my heart as I proudly call myself one of Cy's Golden Apple Girlz!
To Carol and family, I pray that you will look back at his life lived with more smiles than tears and that the wonderful memories will be a source of comfort to you.
Love,
Anne-Marie

Sending my deepest condolences to Cyril's wife Carol and children. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. When I was just out of school and looking for a job, Cyril kindly set up an internship for me with one of his clients which turned into a job, which led to another job at which I have been at for almost 40 years. I will forever be grateful to him for the door he opened for me. I also extend love and condolences to his sister Joan and husband Leyland who have been like family to us over the years, and his other siblings. R.I.E.P. and thank you for the helping hand.

Cyril, Cy, a futurist indeed. My daughter, two friends (1 Grenadian & 1 Jamaican) and I (Guyanese) have been blessed immensely by having him share his home and life with us. We had a beautiful and peaceful place to go to during the pandemic and enjoy the company of Cy and his wife Carol. The conversations were always stimulating and interesting. He inspired to register a business "Golden Apple Girls" which got its name after we raid his golden apple tree and he was most grateful we picked them before they spoil. He said you ladies are my "Golden Apple Girls." We cherish all those times with him. May he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that I read of Cy's passing. This man was truly a wonderful and curious soul that lead a great & full life. How many of us remember the hours of deep, meaningful conversations that so very often happened when chatting with Cy? How many late night, early morning hours did we discuss new innovations, world politics, culture, heritage or just current events. Cyril was always thought provoking & asked soul searching questions. He loved to party, was very well liked & admired. He was just plain good company. He & Carol had a very spicy marriage & it was a pleasure to see their love for one another. I will never forget the kindness the Bryan family has shown to our family throughout the years. We were next door neighbours but truly family. I will forever remember his unforgetable smile & the twinkle he always had in his eyes. xoxox
