Dionisia was a public-school teacher and became a principal in the Department of Education in Sta. Cruz,
Ilocos Sur where she served for over forty years.
She became a US Citizen in 2000, moving to the United States from the Philippines in 1994. After she
retired from her part time job in the US, she alternated spending time between the US and Canada,
where her eldest son, Fr. Freddie is a Roman Catholic church pastor and her youngest son Medardo, his
family and grandchildren reside.
She was a devout Catholic, a devotee to the Blessed Mother, hence her blue and red outfit she is

She loved going to the casino and an avid gardening enthusiast. She enjoyed cooking and fishing. Her
greatest joy in life was her two granddaughters. She loved life itself; she was resilient and faced any
adversity with faith, courage and strength. Her faith in the Lord was unbeatable, no matter how bad the
situation might be. Her motto is: “Put your trust in the Lord always!”
Dionisia was witty and had a great sense of humor. You can never fool her when it came to numbers. She
