RONALD EDWARD ADAM MONTGOMERY

Ronald passed away peacefully March 9th 2023. He is reunited with his beloved wife, Sabine (OMA), who he has missed for 11 years.

Ronald will be missed by his children Ronald (Lynda), Catherine (Michael) & Daniel (Carolina).

Ronald cherished his grandchildren, Kendra, Kyle, Alexandra, Mayson, Keria and Charlie.

Ronald was a 70 year member of IBEW & 65 year member of IATSE Local 58. He was a pioneer in the field of lighting design in theatre in Canada. He worked for the Department of National Defense for 6 months in 1967 where he trained & toured the Canadian Armed Forces Tattoo across Canada in hockey rinks and football stadiums. He was the resident lighting designer for Charlottetown festival for over 30 years, lighting many years of productions of Anne of Green Gables. In July 1970, he was a goodwill ambassador when the show Anne of Green Gables went to Osaka Japan to Expo 70. For this, he was made an honorary citizen of Prince Edward Island. He was the lighting designer for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 at Rideau Hall.

His family lived in Toronto. His work meant that he spent a lot of time away from them. While he was as present as possible in the lives of his children, he depended on the strength of his dear wife Sabine known to everybody as OMA , who fully supported him in his career.

Ronald was a very private person and loved working behind the scenes.

There will be no service as he requested.
