Dear Montgomery family, our deepest condolences from Kevin, Malcolm and Alix MacLean. We have such fond memories of spending summers with Ron in PEI, and family trips to Ron and Sabine's house in Toronto. We would always go for Sunday drives to see the lupins in Ron's big station wagon and drive in the hills in Bonshaw. Ron and Sabine were like grandparents to my children and we miss them very much. Happy that they are reunited together and they will always be with us forever with the many good memories that we have. So honored to have you Ron as a great friend and colleague for decades . God Bless to you and Sabine

When Kevin MacLean told me of Ron's passing we both recalled the many nights that Ron joined us for a beer after work. He was a friend. As I reflected on my rise up the "A" ladder in the lighting department I appreciated his patience as a mentor. But, when I mentioned his passing to my ex-wife, Susan, she reminded me that in 1985 when our daughter, Tracey, was born,,, Ron had packed a crochet pink and white dress into his suitcase as a gift (with the help of Sabine, I'm sure). Apart from being a friend and mentor, Ron was a kind, thoughtful, caring man. My condolences to his family. R.I.P. Ron.

It is never easy to say good by to a friend. Ron was a friend that Carol and I have so many memories with and stories to got with them. Ron, Sabina, Ronnie, Cathy, and Danny were part of our family for a few weeks over many summers at The Charlottetown Festival. In the theatre business Ron was a mentor to me as I followed in his bright footsteps in becoming a lighting designer. Oh, we had words when I didn’t follow his instructions during rehearsal, but that didn’t affect our friendship. Not easy arguing with Ron he was usually right and rightly so as it would prove out during opening nights.
Many visits were made as our children grew up and always wanted to go visit Ron and Sabina in Toronto, they had a swimming pool. Interesting to see that we went full circle when Danny and his family moved to Prince Edward Island to raise Charlie here.
Ronnie, Cathy, Danny, and grandchildren our family send happy memories to you and hope that someday you all can make a visit to PEI again, with your children. Our door is always open.
“May you be as blessed in the next life, my friend, as we are in this one by knowing you."

Cousin Ron, Kathy, and Dan condolences from the Coopers. It was a highlight of our younger years for Paul, Sharon, and I to visit your place. I remember driving into the wilds of Scarborough, and the hills and the trees as we headed up military trail to our uncle Ronnie's house. We got to hang out at your pool, splash and have fun all day. My mom was always happy visiting her baby brother. We were always surprised to hear her called Olive instead of Billie. Your dad was always laughing and joking, and your mom was just such a lovely person. I'm attaching a photo of a model kit. Uncle Ronnie brought me back from Japan when I was a boy. Now I had seen the models cousin Ronnie had assembled, Frankenstein's monster, and some other cool things, but I never did put this kit together. Just found it unpacking stuff that had been in boxes since before I went to Australia. You can't blame me though, the instructions were in Japanese. Anyhow, so sorry for your loss, you guys had a great dad, and he was always wonderful to his big sister and all her kids. In this moment of sadness, we just want to send you lots of love from all us Cooper's.
