Obituary of Mr. Jerome D'Costa

It is with great sadness we announce that Jerome D’Costa, 75, of Toronto, ON, Canada passed away peacefully on November 06, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Jerome grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a city he loved and then moved to Toronto, Canada. He worked at Caritas Bangladesh, Weekly Pratibeshi Publication and World Vision Bangladesh for over 20 years. He enjoyed freelance writing, journalism and photography. He authored various books specially history of the origin of Catholics in Bangladesh written for many publications and later in life blogged regularly that connected the Bengali Catholic communities of Bangladesh, Canada and other countries. Jerome will be dearly missed and be always remembered.

Jerome was predeceased by his dad (Peter), mom (Agnes) and a daughter (Himani). He is survived by his wife (Mary), four sons (Peter, Rana, Romeo and Shouvik), two daughters-in-law (Ria and Rose) , two grandchildren (Andrea and Ryan) and a huge community in Bangladesh, Canada and beyond.

Visitation will be at Ogden Funeral home , 4164 Sheppard Avenue East ,Scarborough, Ontario, Canada , M1S 1T3 on Thursday ( Nov. 10 , 2022 ) and Friday ( Nov. 11, 2022 ) from 4 PM to 8 PM . Funeral mass be at Our Lady of Fatema Catholic Church at 11 AM on Saturday ( Nov. 12, 2022 ) with burial to take place at the Christ the King Cemetary , Markham.
