My Sympathy and Condolences to the McGuffin Familly on the Passing of Leon
I have fond memories of growing up six houses down from your Parents home on Ferris Rd. and attending all three schools in East York with Bruce , Leon, Bette who was in all my classes and Julie .There were good times on our close knit neighbourhood on
Ferris Rd. I then had the pleasure of working with and under Sgt. Leon McGuffin a Deadicated Officer and above all a Gentleman
never a bad thing to say about anyone .always loved to ave a good time .We had some great road hockey games in Ferris Cres.I
liked playing Goal but when Leon came to play i changed position ......wicked slap shot !!

We first met Leon when we moved on to Ailsa Drive in Keswick in 1996. Leon was the ultimate neighbour ( garage was always open for a beer!) and as parents of young children he took on a secondary security role. Leon would stand at the end of his driveway watching my son Erin and their friends play road hockey while managing traffic so it was a safe environment. Leon loved his lawns and Leon's lawn care ended up managing our lawn. Leon was a gentleman and friend to so many here in Keswick. Always the best dressed golfer every Wed at Kesrock golf night!! RIP Leon you were a beauty!! Condolences from Jim , Liz , Chris and Gillian Tierney to Kevin , Matt and Tyler and your families.

Sadly, I have not kept in touch with Leon. We played on the Metro Toronto Police hockey team together for a few years in the 60’s and 70’s. Leon was a perfect gentleman, and fabulous teammate and what a slap shot. As a forward, I was happy to feed Leon the puck so he could blast that low shot at the net…and often score! When you gave him the puck though, you knew enough to get out of the way, or you would have very sore feet.
Leon is gone too soon.

Kevin and Mathew when I think of my childhood I certainly think of your family as my family. Your father and Mother were always there with warmth and smiles. I am so glad you were all part of my life. Leon was always a great Dad and a huge presence. Hold tight to your memories, and each other. Our condolences for you all. You will be in our prayers hugs.

Leon had a kind way about him and always made me feel appreciated. We had many good conversations.

I met Leon over 25 years ago through Kesrock Mens Gold League. He always had a smile on his face and a hearty handshake whenever we would run into each other. Whether that would be at the golf course or at a favorite watering hole. On behalf of myself and KMGL we want to offer his family our sincere condolences at this difficult time and we will all miss him very much.
