I just saw this today. I'm greatly saddened.
Hired him at Alcan and was the best hire I ever made. Honest, loyal, and maintained his great sense of humour.
In heaven he surely is.

I had the pleasure of working with Danko for 10 years and always enjoyed our interactions.
I enjoyed our conversations and the occasional trips I made to Canada,
It is fitting that the story of his honeymoon strike was in the notice - it defined Danko.
Proper priorities and knowing that he was good at his job and would find a something.
Always a gentlemen, dedicated and his love of his family came through our discussions.
Rest in Peace.

Where do I start.I can't describe how I feel right now when I received the word of Danko's passing.Shocked is not even close.I had the privilege to work with this man for over twenty years and he was a true friend.I would talk with Danko almost every day..We would start talking about business but would always end up talking about family. Even would get a funny story out of him once in awhile. How many nights when I worked late I would turn my computer on and notice he was still logged on also. Him and Anne were one great team. My wife Valerie had the joy of working with him at the same location where he worked and heard plenty of funny stories. When I retired in 2009 and returned to my native province of Newfoundland to live, we still kept in touch. I would get a email every year on my birthday. He never missed one.To his family I am so sorry for your loss. He was one great man.God Bless you Danko. I am so glad to have known you. Rest easy my friend. You will be missed. Rest In Peace Danko.

( I work with Gentek Metro West Branch )
I remember the day that I first learned that Danko was Ukrainian.
Since that very moment we had a bond. We had something in common. Over the years we got to know each other while working at 2 different branches - I would contact Danko a few times each week for business reasons, but we would sometimes text each other using the english alphabet but spelling out words in ukrianian... we would always get a kick out of that. I will miss that.
Danko was a kind and gentle soul. A true blue human being. I myself, saw no faults in him. He was funny and would always laugh whenever I would joke with him, even if my jokes were not funny. He always had time for a short chat, like about an upcoming Ukrainian Holiday and food being prepared for it. I remember sending him a jar of my homemade pickles once. ( I don't think he liked them as much as I did... " very garlicky", - he said. ), I remember him telling me that when the jar arrived via courier, and he opened the jar, how the whole office smelled of garlic! That made both of laugh. I have many memories of Danko. And I will always remember him. I feel very fortunate to have known him in my life. I will miss him.
To Danko's family: I am so very sorry for your loss. No words can express my deepest sympathy. Having lost both my parents, I can say with absolute faith, that we will all see our loved ones again. This was a consolation to me and helped me. And I hope these words will help you in your moments of memories of Danko as well.
With big hugs to all of you, Terry Taras.

It was a great shock to hear about Danko's passing. He truly was a great man!
I will miss our daily conversations that started with "Hi Diego" and him responding " Hi Diego-rina" (have to love the auto transcribe from voicemail to email) or me trying to bribe him with a Marco Polo bar and him saying "no" unless it's a Kit Kat bar.
My deepest condolences to Danko's family and friends. May God's love guide you in this difficult time and may your memories of him bring you comfort.

I am still very shocked and speechless by the sudden passing of Danko. In my role I did not have daily interactions with him but every time I did he was always very professional. He will be remembered as a dedicated, hard working and classy colleague. With 43 years of service he was still very dedicated to a point that we had to remind him to use his vacation time.
My condolences to all his family and I can assure you that he will be missed from coast to coast.

So very saddened to hear of Dankos passing. I spoke to him almost every day for work. He has the best sense of humour and we laughed and bonded over our shared love of dad jokes. You will be sorely missed by your many work colleagues, family and friends.

We are so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of our dear friend Danko. Such a gentle, kind, and loyal friend who could always make us laugh. We have many fond memories as our children grew up together - family meals, long talks, prayer supper club at Eunice's, hikes and science fairs. Danko always knew the best cell phone plan and always had helpful business advice. What a wonderful friend. Our deepest sympathy to Karen, Rachel, Stephen and Katie and the dear children. We wish we were able to be with you as you walk through this very dark valley in this shadow of death. The Lord is our only refuge and comfort and our prayer is that He will sustain you. Our love and prayers - Peter & Linda Taylor - North Fort Myers, Florida

Shock and sadness does not even come close to the way I feel right now. I am devastated to hear of Danko's passing. He has been a friend and a colleague for 30 years and will be dearly missed. Danko and I would often talk weekly which would include a 5 minute work conversation and another 15 minutes on life. I enjoyed our many conversations including a Teams video call on the Friday before his passing. I will always remember his wry sense of humor, professionalism, integrity, and most of all just being a wonderful man. I was able to dig up a picture that was sent probably 25 plus years ago of the McLevin group including a very young Danko. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends in this extremely difficult time.
