Mrs. Vivian Reid

Obituary of Mrs. Vivian Reid

Please share a memory of Mrs. Vivian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Vivian Shirley Reid (nee McMaster), 88, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away quietly on January 22, 2022.  Vivian was born February 25, 1933 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, and later moved to Regina where she met her husband, Lorne Douglas Reid. They later moved to Winnipeg and ultimately to Toronto in 1972.

Our mother Vivian had numerous interests and hobbies which included crafts, sewing, history and gardening.  She volunteered with handicapped children as well as The Gibson House Volunteer Association where she made several friendships that lasted through the decades. She traveled extensively with many of these friends.

Vivian is survived by her three children, Natalie, Jim (Katherine), and David, her grandchildren, Haley, Amelia and Caelen, her sister, Mona, her sister-in-law, Catherine, and many nieces and nephews, and half-sisters Jean and Laurie.  She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years Lorne, who passed away in July 2021, her sister Ethel and brother Hugh.

Vivian's grandchildren always enjoyed Grandma's playful banter and will miss sitting around her kitchen table listening to stories, her angel food cakes and the scrapbooks that she had kept of each of them. They have fond memories of the numerous visits made by their "Grandma and Grandpa" at Halloween and Easter time.

A memorial service is not scheduled at this time.
