Sharon was born in Markham, Ontario to Gordon Douglas Ogden & Effie Irene Ogden (nee Middleton) and was raised in Agincourt. Sharon attended Humber College and earned her Funeral Director’s license in 1974 (at a time when very few females entered the profession). She managed the Ogden Funeral Home in Unionville, while at the same time raising her 4 daughters. She went on to become the President and Managing Director of Ogden Funeral Home in Agincourt after her father’s death in 1992 until the present time.
Sharon enjoyed knitting, sewing, ballroom dancing, playing Farm Town, watching figure skating, baseball & hockey, her cats, Diet Coke and the colour blue. She loved Christmas, the Royal Family, travelling and spending time with her family at her cottage on Lake of Bays. She took up dance lessons later in life and became an accomplished ballroom dancer with Shall We Dance Studios and was proud of the many awards she earned at competitions.
Sharon will be remembered for her straight forward, “say it like it is” attitude, her warm heart and her generosity to her family and to others.
Sharon will be resting at her funeral home on Sunday January 23. Funeral Service to be held in the Ogden Chapel on Monday January 24. Due to the current restrictions in place, both the visitation and funeral service will be private.
