Mr. Winston Hamer

Obituary of Mr. Winston Hamer

Please share a memory of Mr. Winston to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Winston Hamer on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Inspirit, London, Ontario. Winston was born in Georgetown, Guyana on September 21, 1939 to Joseph and Doris Hamer. He was the first of eight children. Winston married the love of his life, Regina Hamer, in 1964. They shared a loving and caring marriage until Regina passed away in 2002.

Winston is survived by his sons Warren (Jodie) and Ryan (Nadine), and two grandchildren Raheem and Savannah.

Winston had a fond admiration of tennis and politics. He loved listening to music such as Ben E. King, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and calypso artists such as Mighty Sparrow and Lord Byron Lee.  Even though he didn’t play tennis he was an encyclopedia when it came to tennis facts and history.  He would never admit it but he enjoyed a good party and loved Christmas.  A memorable tradition was his cooking pepperpot at Christmas.

Winston was known for his dry sense of humour.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be missed.
