Obituary of Mrs. Rosamma Joseph

Please share a memory of Mrs. Rosamma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

July 18, 1935 – October 25, 2021

Our beloved wife, mom, and grandmother, Rosamma Joseph, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Scarborough General Hospital on October 25, 2021. Cherished wife for 48 years to Joseph. Loving mother to Betsy and Tessy (Naz). Proud grandmother to Maya.

Rosamma is survived by her brothers Mathew, George, and Jose and sister Philomena. Predeceased by her brother Jacob and her sisters Alleykutty and Mary. Adored aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in India in Punnekkad, Kerala, Rosamma was a quiet woman of great strength and courage who put herself through nursing school and immigrated to Canada on her own in 1968. Once settled in Toronto, she worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, most recently at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Rosamma was a person of strong faith and enjoyed being a Eucharist Minister and a member of the Catholic Women’s League. A loving friend and confidante to anyone who came into her life, she always found ways to help others with a warm smile on her face and was especially appreciated by many newcomers to Canada who benefited from her support and guidance. Rosamma loved spending time with family and friends and was well known for being a wonderful hostess and cook.

Rosamma will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
