The memory of a good person is a blessing.
Proverb 10:7
It is with heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our dear beloved, Joslyn (Jos), who passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2021. She was a loving sister, friend, aunt, and cousin. Jos was highly regarded as a person of strength, love, and compassion for everyone who was blessed to know her.
Born in the town of Layou on the beautiful island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Jos entered the world on July 2, 1960, to Henry Barker and Isloa Lee. She is survived by her siblings Charles, Ovil, Esther, Angela, Kendel, Arthlyn and Bevan, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother Cootes.
Jos began her education at Layou Government School and later completed her studies at Barrouallie Secondary School. Jos migrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1980 and began her new life with her extended family, Vere and Barbara Palmer. She was welcomed and loved and played a role in raising their two young daughters, Val and Rosie. In 1990 Jos became a Canadian Citizen, which afforded her the opportunity to work in the customer service industry. Her final position was as a customer service representative with Volks Wagon Canada. She loved her job and took great pride in helping the organization meet business goals and retain valued customers.
Jos loved to travel and took great pleasure in exploring many countries throughout the world. She was an avid ‘cruiser’ and went on several cruises with some of her many friends. She had an eclectic taste which was apparent in her clothes and the way she decorated her home.
Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Ogden Funeral Home. Online condolences and live streaming of the service may be found on the funeral home website.
