Kent, Karen, Kim posted a condolence

Its quiet now. We halfway expect mum to ask for something or to share some wisdom. That's no more, it seems.
Mum is at peace. She's got what she needs, for now. Yes, she has been reunited with our Dad, and with sisters Norma and Gloria (Jan wrote a nice remembrance, and Mel was very kind), brother George, and parents Joe and Dorothy. Plus her own grandparents on the Woolhead and Wigmore sides. That was an amazing extended family, and we were lucky to have them all around when we were children. The thought of a reunion is comforting.
We still have Auntie Sharon, and we will do our best to support her. We were close to her as kids, and remain close as adults.
Uncle Moe has provided solid support during this time. Auntie Sharon (and Chris) found mum a nice red cat. That cat has helped to keep us going over the last bit. Thank you.
Auntie Alma is still with us as well. Steve has been amazing with her, and very kind to us.
And we have more amazing cousins. Thank you for your support. Cheryl and Colleen were very helpful in the background, as were Rob and Larry. While we miss our own mum, we also truly miss Auntie Norma, Auntie Dode, Uncle George, and Gramma and Grandad. And the many extended members of the Woolhead family.
We also wish members of Dad's family well. A story which doesn't belong here.
Neighbours have provided very kind support.
If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. Our extended family was and is very close. But there is only so much space.
Mum was very determined. She came from a long line of those that were determined. She was kind, compassionate, looked after us, and looked after relatives the best she could. You knew that she always had your back.
At the cottage, when we were kids, we saw her silly side, where city rules did not apply and we had more freedom to explore.
Mum was able to go on trips with her grandchildren. Gramma rules applied. There are many good memories from those trips.
Mum was a loyal and proud Canadian. She loved the Queen. She took us coast to coast when we were kids. Mum now has a small Canadian flag pinned over her heart, because that's what she would have wanted.
Mum encouraged education, so much so that some of our education seems to never end. She encouraged education for the grandchildren. She knew that good results came easier to some than others, but she was very proud of all of the grandchildren just the same. Sometimes the hardest step is the first step, just deciding to try. Everybody got that. She was proud.
Mum's legacy lives on through us, her children, and her grandchildren. And through the people she touched along the way. We can't replace her. We can move ahead. With treasured memories. And well-taught habits. She'd want that. She'd want us to carry on. That won't always be easy. An important lesson she taught was, no matter what, do your best. We will.
'Night mum. We love you.

My deepest sympathies to Kent, Karen, Kim & your families. You've suffered a tremendous loss.
I clearly remember a family picnic at David and Mary Thompson Park. Auntie Marlene ran up to the top of the hill with a red and
white gingham tablecloth, wrapped it on like a cape, and ran down the hill like superman, laughing hysterically all the way.
I will always remember her as a kind and thoughtful Lady, with an infectious laugh.
Rest in peace (or get up to some heavenly hijinks with Mom, Auntie Norma, and Uncle George)
Love, Jan & family xoxo

My condolences to all of Auntie Marlene's family. Auntie Marlene was such a strong woman. She faced many battles with dignity and determination. Her perseverance was inspirational. She had such a soft spot for animals, particularly cats. She enjoyed many crafts and taught me how to knit and crochet. I will miss her spunk, her smile and her stories. Rest in peace, Auntie Marlene.
Love, Christine

Our deepest sympathies to the family. Wishing love and comfort to all of you. My dear sister, Ming - so many wonderful memories - from our weekly shopping expeditions to getting chased by a swan on one of our adventures in Stratford; our lunches out where we laughed so hard we embarrassed ourselves - and so many more fun times together. We were best friends. I will miss you so very much. God Bless.
With much love,
Sharon and Morley

We will remember Marlene as a fashionable woman that enjoyed chatting with others. Always proud of her family and broadly smiling when speaking of them. May she rest in peace. Sincere condolences to the entire family.
With love, Barb and Ralph
