Obituary of Mrs. Lubelia Vicente Rebelo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Lubelia Vicente (Arruda) Rebelo, on January 8, 2021 at the age of 81. She has been reunited with her loving husband, José Reis Rebelo, who passed away April 19, 2019.
Originally from São Miguel Açores, she is predeceased by her parents, João Vicente Arruda and Mariana da Luz Rego. She is survived by her children, Joe Rebelo (Odalia), Regina Pedro (Joseph) and Robert Rebelo (Joanne), her cherished grandchildren, Jenna Rebelo (Mike Nalepa), Sarah Pedro, Lauren Rebelo, Joey Pedro, Jacob Rebelo and Julia Rebelo and great-grandson, Felix Nalepa. Lubelia is also survived by her two sisters, Odilia Arruda and Regina Arruda (Humberto).
She will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law, Maria da Luz Arruda and Teresa Arruda as well as her many nieces, nephews and godchildren in Canada, the US and Portugal. She will also be missed by extended family members, friends, neighbours, her Parish community and staff and residents at the North York General Seniors Health Centre (SHC).
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of SHC, namely, Dr. Pinto, Saad (NP), Raymond and all the 2nd floor nurses and PSWs. Special thanks to Rochelle and Sabrina who kept us updated on a daily basis. We cannot say enough about the phenomenal care and compassion provided in such unprecedented times. Words cannot express the commitment, dedication and support these individuals provided to Lubelia while being faced with so many challenges along the way,
