In Loving Memory of Dr. Louis Oliver Fernandes

 

August 2,1934 to December 31, 2020.

 

Louis went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on December 31st, 2020 at the age of 86.  He was the loving husband of (late) Francesca Fernandes, and father to Suzanne and Karen.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his two daughters.

 

Louis was born in Karachi, Pakistan, the second of eight children born to Mark and Mary Fernandes.  Louis will be fondly remembered by his loving family including his dear sister Irene and brother Gregory, and his many nieces and nephews, Cassilda (Valentine), Thrasilla (John), Gervase, Mark, Rock (Heidi), Milly (John), Colin (Anna), Kevin, Javed, Ateeb, Alyssa (Dennis), Sarah (Ura), Andrew (Malika), Jonathan (Sarah), Stephen (Gina), Courtney (Andy), Tanya (Jean-Francois), Rachel (Harmish), Rebecca, and David.  Louis was predeceased by his siblings Esther, Noel, Slyvia, Felix, and Vivienne. He is also greatly missed by his brother and sister in laws, Fermin, Azhar, Barbara (Brian), Michael (Stefanie), Patrick (Margaret), and Yvette (Peter).

 

He was a talented chemist who formulated many personal care products to enhance the quality of people’s lives. Louis was a devoted dad who was a godly influence in the life of his daughters.  He lived a full life and will be remembered as a generous person who helped those in need.  Above all, Louis loved the Lord with all his heart and would pray daily for his family and friends. 

 

He is deeply missed by his girls, and by his extended family and friends.

 

A private funeral will be held at the Toronto Free Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at 11 am.  The service will be webcast at the following link:
