Obituary of Ms. Irene Pemberton

The family of Irene Pemberton announces with great sorrow her passing on December 15, 2020.  At the age of 96, Irene transitioned peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her children: Florestine, Christine, John, Thomas, and Mary.

Born in Gingerland Nevis, Irene moved to St. Peters, St. Kitts at an early age. Like many of her generation, she moved to Canada in the 1960's in search of opportunities for herself and her family. In 1966, Irene arrived in Canada where she was employed at the Silver Family's residence for 35 years before retiring and returning to St. Kitts in 2000.

Irene’s love for gardening, a healthy diet, daily physical exercise, word puzzles, and regular bible readings greatly contributed to her long, healthy life. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her five children, thirteen grand-children, ten great grand-children, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
