Obituary of Mrs. Margaret Walter

Please share a memory of Mrs. Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 26, 2020 at age 94. Beloved wife of the late John Walter. Loving mother to Anne (Rob) Wylie and Sue (Dave) McCarthy. Proud grandmother to Cheryl (Kevin), Michael (Kirstin), Andrew (Heather), Steve (Lizzy), Jeff, Alison (Tara) and Paul. Great-grandmother to Clara and Amelia. Marg was the second youngest of a large close-knit family and is predeceased by her siblings. Many loving nieces and nephews will miss their dear Aunty Marg. Marg brought a smile to everyone she met and was always there to lend a helping hand. She had a great sense of humour and a clever wit. Marg will be fondly remembered as the hostess of the annual Miceli family picnic for many years. She was fun-loving, caring, kind-hearted and in general, a wonderful human being, who will be greatly missed. Marg was always doing little things to help the people around her. In her memory, it would be wonderful if you could do a random act of kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Missions In Canada, a cause that was dear to her heart. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 29 from 3 to 5 pm at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave E. Due to COVID restrictions, visitation is limited and you may have to wait outside until space is available. Masks must be worn at all times and social distancing will be in place. Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out the contact tracing information that is required from guests. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 30 at 1:00 pm at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church, 59 Heather Rd. Mass will be celebrated by Marg’s great-nephew, Father Dave Walter. If attending the Funeral Mass in person, you must let Anne or Sue know prior to Thursday evening, so that a seating arrangement can be made. If you are unable to attend, the Mass will be recorded and available for viewing later. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery will follow the Mass.
