Albert Williams, MEd
April 21, 1931 – October 10, 2020
Albert died peacefully at Providence Healthcare on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 6:45am. He was a beloved father to Robert McKay (Sarah Phillips) and grandfather to Ava and Marcus.
He was dearly loved by his partner Mary Pat Bradbury and her son Thomas. Albert was a dear uncle to Paulette Latibeaudiere, Maureen Hayden Cater (Michael) and Neville Hayden (Kitty). He was also a special uncle to Donet and Andrea Virgo and others too numerous to name.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Lydia and Robert Williams and his siblings Stanley, Lucille and Hilda.
Albert was born in Somerton, Jamaica and earned a teaching degree at Mico Teacher’s College in Kingston. In 1968 after many obstacles had been overcome, he came to Kingston Ontario where he set up many programs at Sunnyside School.
In 1990 he moved to Rosalie Hall a residence and school for teenage moms. There he continued to set up innovative programs as education coordinator. He was a gentle, kind man who always let the girls find their own answers to their situations. Albert was much loved by staff and students alike.
After his retirement in 1998 Albert travelled to extensively especially to his beloved Jamaica as late as last November.
A private family service will be held for Albert and after Covid a celebration of his life for family and close friends.
