Monica Aldine Wright, 78, of 18 Bushwood Court, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada passed away October 2, 2020. She passed away at peacefully Rouge Valley Health Centre- Centenary Hospital.
She was born to parents George Wright and Videz Wright, January 27th, 1942 in Kingston, Jamaica. Monica graduated from high school in Kingston, Jamaica and received degrees from Aberdeen Nursing School and University of Toronto. Monica was last employed as a Chiropodist for Four Villagers Health Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
Monica is survived by her two sons, Kamal Wright (Lynda Wright) and Gavin Wright Sands. She is also survived by her five grandkids and one great-grandson: Camerin Wright (Brittany Wright), Justin Wright, Nicole Wright, Evan Sands, Jasmine Sands and Emmett Wright.
Monica’s long history as a Registered Nurse is filled with stories and relationships developed with patients, colleagues and life-long friends. Monica was one of the first nurses to launch and establish Foot Care in nursing, in Canada. Monica was the ultimate caregiver and cared about everyone she encountered. Monica was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
A Private Viewing Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 12 p.m. at the Ogden Funeral Home, in Scarborough, ON. A Private Memorial ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at Ogden Funeral Home. A virtual link to view will be made available. People may make donations in support of Sick Kids Foundation.
