I have known Betty for over 50 years. She was very much a part of our family, what with living right next door! Birthe, Betty’s Mom was one of my closest friends until she passed away in 2012. Betty and I kept in touch as well over the years. We talked every couple of weeks. I saw her with Mike on the Monday just a few days before she died. Rest peacefully Betty. Until we meet again...Claire.

Quite recently I spoke to Betty reminiscing about Caribana and how it would not proceed this year. She was in great spirits and we shared a wonderful conversation about family, former work colleagues and travel. As always Betty provided stories and her suggested guidance. She will be missed. xo Drew

Betty, I always enjoyed our conversations at family parties, as well as our car rides on the way up to Showroom back in the day. I will cherish the Scandinavian reelects you gave Taylor and I. To my fallen Viking, we will remember you.

I met Betty at Stanford Downey Architects about 13 or 14 years ago. We only worked together for a year or two, but we kept in touch through the years.
I will always remember her strong, fighting spirit and underneath it all, a very warm, genuine and caring heart. Through the years, she was always there to share words of encouragement, we mourned together when we both lost loved ones, and like others have mentioned here, she generously shared her Danish heritage with me. It's hard to believe she's not with us anymore. You are loved and missed Betty.

Betty always had a unique bond with Connor and I as she did with many people in her life given our abstract personalties and Viking heritage amongst other things. We always viewed her as an honorary aunt and will treasure our deep conversations about life, Planet Earth, Scandinavia and Harvey's. She was one of a kind where family and friends will miss her presence and quirkiness as life carries on without her in our lives. She was a warrior throughout her life in true Viking fashion fighting bravely and fiercely against her illness while making light of the situation in her Bettyesque manner. We love you and will cherish the memories we created together over the years forever!

Although I hadn’t seen Betty in some time she was always present with her online activity. There was never a post of ours that went unliked or commented on by Betty. She always had a voice and something witty to say!
Betty always took great interest in hearing about whatever project Justin and I were taking on next with our house. She often shared many memes or neat crafty projects that she thought Justin and I would get enjoyment out of or might be “the next” project we take on. Betty always entertained my creative side, she knew her audience and if the interest was there she would engage! I will miss our from time to time small chat on messenger and her smart ass and also caring remarks.
I hope she is up there enjoying everything Danish alongside a big glass of white wine! You are and will be missed Betty! XO

It was only just a few months ago when I spoke with Betty on the phone and her spirits were so high. She sounded strong and able, just like a Viking.
Betty always had lots to say, which made for interesting conversations. Her wit and humour will always remain vivid in my memory of her.
Betty, although you have left this world, your presence is felt, and your legacy lives on. Where ever you are, I hope you continue to play out your dreams.
You were and are loved.
See ya on the flip side!

I didn’t know Betty for as long as many other family and friends. I think she took a special liking to me, with my probable Viking heritage, as evidenced by my red hair, and we shared many in-depth conversations on a range of subjects, which we both enjoyed.
I would often get messages from Betty on Facebook, discussing social and political matters of the day—always items that might bring a laugh, or just topics that she thought I would appreciate, as well as looking for my thoughts on various issues. Recently, I was happy to hear that she was home, keeping healthy and safe, and seemed genuinely happy, despite all the trials she had endured. I think that truly says something about a person, to not let the struggles of life steal their joy and perseverance. Indeed, I think perhaps her experiences had given her a new perspective and lease on life, and it was great to hear the positivity in her last messages.
Sheena and I are truly saddened by the passing of Betty, and send our love and condolences to all of her friends, and to the rest of the family.

We met Betty a little over 2 years ago and instantly connected through our Danish heritage. Our family quickly made Betty a part of the family and included her in many of our family get togethers, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had her over for many Danish meals which she thoroughly enjoyed and would always send home care packages for her. We would spend many hours sitting around the table talking about Danmark, something neither of us got a chance to do until we met each other, and really enjoyed. Our kids also enjoyed spending time with Betty, learning Danish words and sayings as we talked and was even asked by Betty to call her Aunt Betty. She always took time to talk and spend time with them whenever we were all together.
Her father was instrumental in the early years of Sunset Villa and we took her there every chance we could. She reconnected with people from as far back as her childhood, even giving her fathers Royal Danish Guard uniform to someone that knew her father and was also a member of the Gaurd to wear at the Danish Constitution Day celebrations. She was so proud to be able to do this in memory of her father.
Betty had many plans for the future and it saddens me that she will not be able to do them. She had asked me to accompany her to Danmark to visit family and friends at some point when she was able. We were also planning a trip to take her to the Maritimes with us to visit more of my family. Betty spent a weekend with us all, enjoying great food and laughs and was so well liked, my family extended an open invitation any time she wanted to come. They enjoyed her sense of humour and caring demeanour that was always on display when we were together.
Our family will always cherish the times we spent together, even though the time was short. Intet vil fjerne minderne Betty. Tak for at være en del af vores familie. Mike, Kerri-Lynn, Braedin, Britlynn.

What a wonderful tribute to Betty Jensen’s! She loved her Danish heritage very much. I know in 2018 when I took her to Sunset Villa she was thrilled to meet you and begin a new friendship. She loved to speak her native language and enjoy all things Danish with you and your family. She is gone too soon from this world but we hope she has found peace.

2020 has been quite a roller coaster ride for Betty. Surviving the cancer surgery and recovery on her own terms was Betty’s way. She did it in true Viking form as she would always be proud to tell us. I was always like her big brother fighting for her and often times with her as brothers and sisters do. While we often differed on approach we always came from a place of love. She knew always she could rely on me to help her in any and all ways. I will miss you ‘Sister’. ox Mike

The picture of Betty and me was a trip to Sunset Villa where Betty picked up where her childhood memories left off. She was happy to share her Danish culture that day. She was a proud Dane! Betty and I had a few shopping trips where I was her personal shopper and she just tried outfits on. I believe she loved the personal attention and being waited on! Mike and I will miss her!

I knew Betty from Sunset Villa. She began to hang out there more regularly about 2 years ago. There she would indulge in her favourite Danish foods, buy treats from the Baker and talk to fellow Danes. She was so easy to talk to, funny and always interesting. I will miss Betty at Sunset Villa. My condolences to her family, Lisa Olsen
