Uncle Hollis was just a quiet, and very knowledgeable man. I always admired his cool and supportive disposition. He was loved by me, and I pray that his journey from this life into the next will be a lesson to each of us who mourn him. He will forever be remembered by me and my family.

Uncle Holly was a true gem. He was simple yet funny. We always enjoyed being in his presence with his gentle smile that perfectly complemented Aunty June's more outgoing personality. I remember some seemingly minor details about him, but that, for me, made him very unique. For example, Uncle Hollis would eat all his salad only after having finished his food and he enjoyed doing puzzles. The funniest memory that I have of Uncle Holly occurred during one of his visits to Trinidad. When our dog Pepper (featured in one of the pictures) was still a pup, she decided to gnaw on Uncle Hollis' slippers for her afternoon snack. When Uncle Holly decided to venture outside, a tug of war ensued between himself and the insistent puppy during which Uncle Holly wailed "Pepper", and finally retrieved his slobbery footwear. Anytime I start thinking of Uncle Hollis, this is the first memory that comes to mind - it is characterised by his gentle yet humorous side! We love you Uncle Hollis!

Uncle Hollis was one of the most loving, caring, and gentle soul I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing! He was full of life till the very end and established a sense of humor that would tickle your heart! He made my Aunty June (his second half) extremely happy and complete in every way, which always warmed my heart and made me extremely happy and optimistic of the existence of true love! I feel so blessed to have known him and extremely fortunate to have spent time with him and aunty June for a month when they visited me in California 2 years ago. I treasured every second of those moments then and even more now! Rest In Peace uncle Hollis, you would forever and always hold a special place in my heart! I love you xoxo

Uncle Hollis!!! That's how I always greeted him: with abounding happiness and excitement. I always looked forward to Uncle Hollis and Aunty June visiting Trinidad. Aunty June is known for her stories and Uncle Hollis was funny! I could count on them both for guidance and support- like in this picture. Here they came to cheer me on for a talent competition. I know Uncle Hollis is still cheering me on and encouraging me, because that's the kind of guy he was. Thank you Uncle Hollis!

Ever since I can remember, Uncle Hollis was always there alongside Aunty June. Kind, witty, charming and quite handsome; "Uncle Harry" as I would often call him (because of what I thought was an uncanny resemblance to Harry Belafonte) was truly a gem! He possessed the qualities that any young woman would want in a father or a future husband. I always enjoyed spending time with you through the years Uncle Hollis! I will miss you!

ONE OF A KIND: Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Father-in-law, Friend. A kind of quiet storm who never boasted about anything. A doer who just got the job done. In this picture we were on a cruise for my 65th birthday. Uncle Holly (as I called him) made this trip extra special. I will always remember this cruise and every fun moment I spent with my big brother.
