I am shocked and saddened to learn Bob has left us. He was the gentlest, most inclusive man I ever knew in the Bank and we are all of a sudden very lonely and a bit scared to realize we have lost yet another link to the good in this world. God rest you Bob and thank you for being there for so many of your coworkers at BMO. Our deepest condolences to your family and all those who relied on you each and every day. Well done old friend.

I enjoyed volunteering with Bob at Seven Oaks. We would often share a greeting as we passed each other in the hall.
When he attended he was a valued member of the executive meetings offering insightful suggestions on how to improve the life of the residents.
We often shared stories of our efforts at organizing a church bazaar, he at St. Stephen's and me at Guildwood Community Presbyterian church.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

Bob and Bev have been our dear and close friends for 56 years, ever since our Sault Ste. Marie years. Our hearts ache for his passing and for his family. Words cannot express the loss of this good and decent man. He was a true gentleman in every respect and highly principled in all that he did and said. His love for Bev and for his children and grandchildren was evident to all who knew him. Despite his many activities they were his life and and his joy. The memories of all the wonderful times, and conversations, and laughs we had together will always be with us. We hope some of these memories will help the family through this awful time.
Bob Black contributed much to this world and it was all good. Our thoughts and condolences will forever be with his family.

Greig, while I didn’t have the pleasure of getting to know your dad all that well (only spent a few moments around him) I can say with certainty that I know you. And if you are even a FRACTION of your father’s son, I can begin to understand the kind of man the world has lost, and what a hole in your life his unexpected passing must have created. But what this also tells me is how much he will continue to live on through you and your children. And while this can’t comfort you right now, trust me that it will down the road, when his memory no longer aches but brings a smile to your face. I am a former resident of Kingsville, and like Bob went to the Kingsville District High School in the 50's. It's been perhaps 50 years since our last encounter, but I would never forget this kind, friendly man. I recognized his photo immediately. Bob, rest in peace. Aunt Bev, Greig, Jill and family,
We're so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. It is so strange that God grants us love, yet, someone to love he only lends us. We're unique as a species though that love remains and sustains and continues through our memories of those we lost. Gary and I wish you memories that console, memories that bring you joy, memories that make you laugh. Memories that allow you to reflect on what he meant to you, and the lessons he taught. Memories of the kind man he was and the difference he made for us all through knowing him. We remember with you, and while we are so very saddened, we're buoyed by the truth Uncle Bob is forever with us. Walking tall beside us.
