Obituary of Ms. Marieliese Tisseverasinghe

Marieliese Selvamahal Tasha Tisseverasinghe (born Oct 13, 1977 in Colombo, Sri Lanka), fondly known as “Lokku”, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Jul 30^th 2019.  She was a gentle soul with a big heart.  From a young age, she faced many hardships, but was always gracious and forgiving.  She was shy, but loved the company of people and shared with others wisdom beyond her years.  She had a special place in her heart for furry friends (including her beloved canine Mushki and her furr-nephew Charles), with whom she shared a child-like innocence.  She also loved little children, including her niece Lizzy and baby nephew Erik, whom she showered with many gifts.  Marieliese was a naturally-gifted artist whose paintings reflect the beauty of nature and animals.  She enjoyed and cherished the little things in life that most people take for granted.  What little she had, she loved sharing with others. 

Marieliese will forever be loved by her sisters, Therese Tisseverasinghe (David Hollowaty) and Annaliese Tisseverasinghe (Michael, Elizabeth, & Erik Foth), who miss her beyond words.  Her passing has also left a deep void in the hearts of her parents, Emile and Mary Tisseverasinghe.  She will also be forever fondly remembered by her many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

We invite everyone to join us in the celebration of Marieliese’s life at St. Theresa's Parish, Shrine of the Little Flower (2559 Kingston Rd, Scarborough ON, Canada) on Sat, Aug 3 at 10:00 am, with Father James officiating, followed by burial at Pine Hills Cemetery (625 Birchmount Rd) around 11:00 am and a gathering of friends and family at East Town Banquet Hall (2648 Eglinton Ave E) starting at 12:00 pm.  Viewing will be held from 6 – 9 pm on Fri Aug 2^nd at Ogden Funeral Homes (4164 Sheppard Ave E).
