I attended St. Boniface school from 1994-2004. Mr. McNeil was always so kind to me and all of the students. If you got to school early enough he'd let you help put up the basketball nets. Some of the fondest memories I have of that school is coming in to start the day and hearing him whistling down the hall. You'd know he was working that day when you'd see his blue car with the K of C sticker on the back parked in the same spot.
I was very saddened to learn of his passing. The odd time I'd go to mass at St. Barnabas I'd see him, but never said hello. It's been some years since I graduated and I was never sure he'd remember who I was. Wish I did take the time.
Rest in Peace, Mr. McNeil. You will be missed.

I am definitely going to miss that quick wit, sarcastic sense of humour that Uncle Danny possessed. I have a lot of fond memories just sitting down with him, my dad (Mr. Bill) and many of my uncles and cousins just cracking one liners with one another. I will always remember Uncle Danny's giving spirit and the words he said to me when my dad passed, they were that arm around my shoulder I needed at the time. I hope that his example of charity and giving will live on as an example, of the impact one gave have on the community when they allow their better angels to shine through.
God Bless and rest in peace along with the other Men in Black

Dear Glenda and Family,
We were so sorry to hear the news of Danny's passing. He was one of the sweetest people we have ever met. From our days at the many church dances, bowling and even one year when Darlene was an elf when Danny was Santa at the church. He had the best laugh. He always made you feel special.
He will be deeply missed.
Love, Darlene and Dave Marshall xo

Glenda, I am so very sorry to hear about Danny’s passing. As the secretary of St. Barnabas School for many years I had the chance of getting to know Danny a little more with every visit he made. He always stopped in at the office to say hello and to share a joke and a great laugh. I saw him before Christmas, 2017 just before I retired when he was picking up the Christmas Gifts and Baskets - I will always remember that visit as he had me laughing so hard. He was such a wonderful man, so giving and so very kind. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel, but we on earth, have lost a special man. May he rest in eternal peace.

I spent a lot of time thinking about my life with Uncle Danny, Aunt Glenda and the boys in recent days. Reflecting on the funny things and great times!!..
However... the best memories that keep coming back into my heart is that Uncle Danny was the father that I needed when my father couldn't be.. Danny never judged me, offered his ear and gave me kind words, love and support. My other parents were Uncle Danny and Aunt Glenda my love of them is etetnal.. I'm forever grateful for my time with ...love of and from Uncle Danny.. If I sit quietly, I can still hear that laugh .. the laugh that always made me laugh..the off colour jokes.. ( I cant remember one, there were so many!!)
I feel consoled by my memories of Danny, he will live on in my heart!
Uncle Danny, .. your kind soul is in heaven.. keep the others in line..! I know you'll be my guardian angel!! Im blessed to have had you be such a big part of my life..I Love you till my end of days and etetnally! ... xoxo

Danny will be missed by so many people - family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with him at St. Boniface and often frequented his "Tea Room"! He loved children and often would pop his head into my Special Education Class. He always was there to add a helping hand in everything we did in the class. Each year we had a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with the students and the turkey was cooked in his "Tea Room". In June we would pitch a tent on the front lawn of the school with Danny's help and spend the day outside doing our work. At lunch time we cooked hotdogs and roasted marshmallows. Danny was always there to help out and participate. The children loved him!
Danny always had a special place in his heart for the Special Needs children. One year I asked him if the Knights could help a family to purchase a special bike for one of my students who was born with no limbs. Two days later he told me that the Knights would buy the bike for the family, not just help to purchase it!! Danny never liked to be in the limelight. As I searched through my pictures to find the ones with the bike Danny was not in them. He was the photographer. He didn't want to take any credit for this wonderful gift!
So many wonderful memories to treasure of the fun times we had a St. Boniface. Rest in peace Danny. You are with the angels now!

We are thinking of you Aunt Glenda, and the family, and our hearts and prayers are with you all. Danny will be missed by many for so many different reasons. For us on PEI, it will be his hearty laugh, his jokes, and his love of good ole PEI grub!! Mom and I, and Pam, certainly enjoyed cooking for someone who appreciated our talents like he did. Our Brandon fondly tells the story of the lolly pops he planted at our place, and the money tree. He will never forget him for this bit of time he took to do this for Brandon. Don't know who enjoyed it more, Brandon, me or Danny! Wish we lived closer to be there to hug you all, but we are there in spirit, and I know some other good spirits there watching over you. Aunt Glenda, we plan on taking you home with us for a visit when the weather is nicer, and pampering you to pieces. Take care of yourself, we love you. God bless.

To Glenda and Family,
My deepest sympathy on Danny's passing. He was, truly, a good and decent man who added much to the betterment of society. He was always one to be counted upon embracing, with great energy and commitment, each cause or charity he supported. A life well lived; he set a fine example. Part of my treasured memories during my time at Saint Boniface School was a coffee and toasted beagle, following morning announcements, in Danny's tea room. Good times, well spent in great company. Thank you Danny for the gift of your life and for allowing me to walk a small part of your journey with you.
Well done good and faithful servant ! You have earned your wings. Now enjoy your new eternal life surrounded by the loving light of Jesus.

Lady Glenda and extended McNeil Family and Friends,
My most heartfelt condolences.
I was blessed to know Sir Knight Dan McNeil upon joining the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
He was an outstanding mentor and inspiring Brother Knight. His leadership was always accompanied by an or-so-sharp sense of humour.
But, more specificallty, SK Danny's deep faith and commitment were and will continue to be a personal guiding light.
And, as it is said, he will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
