Jim and Irene were a vital part of the Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto from the time they first walked into one of our events, and I recruited them to become our Treasurers. They were very diligent in taking care of their duties and their home was the venue for many get-togethers, including mailing of newsletters and a celebration of Tom Bjarnason´s art. Jim was always a caring, gracious person and he will be missed, not only by me, a cousin of Irene´s, but by many other members of our Icelandic community.
