Obituary of Philip Faughnan

FAUGHNAN, Philip Lincoln March 21, 1927 - July 1, 2017 With his family by his side, Philip Faughnan passed away at the incredible age of 90 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Nancy for 61 years, cherished father of Philip (Rose), Brian (Jeri), Peter Hale, Maura and Andrea and devoted Grampa of Claire, Kate, Brianna, Mitchell, Riley, Maeve, Aidan, Max and Lucy. Also left to mourn his passing are his older sister Phyllis Silvestri of Las Vegas and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Russell and sister Patsy Royer. Phil was born and raised in Montreal. He and Nancy moved to Toronto in 1956, when he began a successful career at General Foods. After 30 years, Phil enjoyed a long and rewarding retirement filled with world-wide travel and, most importantly, time with Nancy, friends and treasured family. Phil was a life-long Liberal, a valued Catholic School Board trustee, a piano-playing jazz buff and the funniest, pun-loving guy you could ever know. Our hearts are broken but we are comforted in the knowledge that his life was full of love, both given and received. Visitation will be held at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3526 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Warden Ave.), on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Ogden Funeral Home.
