Obituary of Mr. Kenrick King
KENRICK THEOPHILUS KING
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenrick Theophilus King at his home on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the age of 77.
Ken was born in Jamaica on October 8, 1947. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in April 1970 and moved to Calgary in 1977 to pursue a career at Sureway Metal Systems, where he worked until he retired in 2018.
Ken was as steady and reliable as the sunrise. He preferred to keep his life and relationships simple and uncomplicated. His jovial laugh, unique approach to life, loyalty, generosity, and dependability are just a fraction of what we will miss the most.
We all know how important connecting with friends and family was to Ken. He loved his annual domino tournaments and fishing trips to Vancouver. He never forgot to bring mementos and tokens of appreciation to family and friends whenever he visited - something small but something that reminded us of how thoughtful he was. I'm sure if each one of us looked around our homes, we would see one of those gifts and smile.
We all feel the great void that has been left by his parting and we'll miss his constant presence as a son, brother, uncle and dear friend. To express our gratitude for the memories we were gifted through our relationship with Ken, the family are honoured to host the following celebrations:
The family wishes to send a special thank you to his friends in Calgary, Vancouver, Jamaica and Toronto for their compassion and support. Your stories, memories, and love of our beloved Ken are easing the pain of losing him too soon.
Fly high, Ken. Watch over us and we will listen for the sound of your laughter in the winds.
