Obituary of Mr. David Lindo Francis
DAVID LINDO FRANCIS
It is with great sorrow that we announce David Lindo Francis, passed away on Thursday, October 31st at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
David, age 88, lived a full life. He is survived by his wife Joyce, brother Egbert, sister Marie, children, Jacqueline, Jullie, Michael, and Marlene. Nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other family members.
David was a kind, loving, joyful individual who had a witty sense of humour and always made you feel relaxed and comfortable in his presence. He always had a word of wisdom. He was bluntly truthful and lovingly direct when needed.
He had a love for music, soulful r&b, ol’skool reggae, oldies, but goodies. He loved watching Westerns, black and white films, and action movies. He wasn’t opposed to a James Bond or Clint Eastwood flick.
David had many skills and enjoyed a long fulfilling career with General Motors in which he developed rich life long friendships with his co-workers.
After retiring, he enjoyed tending to his garden, attending family events and spending time with his friends.
He was an extraordinary husband who loved and had an immense passion for his wife. He was a model father who always took care of his children to the best of his abilities. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, we find solace in knowing he is no longer suffering and is with Christ.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital Unit, 3WF who cared so much for David during his time there. We would also like to thank the staff at the Odette Cancer Centre and Sunnybrook Medical Centre who oversaw David’s cancer treatment.
Flowers can be sent to the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave.
