Hillary- A force of Nature
I first met Aunt Hil at a family do, over the water in Heswalll in the 60's. I'd never met anyone like here. She was great company very forthright in her opinions & loved family. My lasting impressions were
Family mattered, came first
Women's rights / Liberation
Alan & Ian could drink loads of milk
Hil was in the UK for 6 weeks & had told Bob to paint the outside of the house whilst she was away (He didn't)
My Dad pulled her leg about the speed she'd driven from London to Liverpool, Hil loved it, had a sense of humour.
Into the 70's on one occasion whilst visiting Mother on my own in Nicander road, to my surprise I met Aunt's Hil & Olave walking out with Mother in a wheelchair, we had a lovely time reminiscing
Throughout the 80's & 90s we continued to enjoy Hil's company at family do's
In 00's we went to Canada to see the family, Hil put us up & was a brilliant host. Hil loved having a natter with Yvonne We absolutely loved it
We went again to Canada in 2017 & my everlasting memory will be Hil myself & Yvonne talking to Uncle Stephen on a hands free call in Hil's garden & Hil telling myself & uncle Stephen to be quieter and more politically correct. We all had a great laugh about it. What a fantastic day with family.
We last saw Hil last year, when she visited the UK & after a lovely family get together at Carole & Rick's. On her way home, Hil stopped off & we went out for a meal. We reminisced, laughed, pulled Hil's leg about her love for Justin Trudeau (only joking).
Oh Aunt Hil you will be missed
