Obituary of Mrs. Joanne Doulos
Joanne Doulos, 89, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024.
Joanne is survived by her cherished children, Vickie, Chris (and daughter-in-law Kalli), and Tommy, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Adam and Nicole. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Stavroula, John, Anastassia, and Stathy.
Joanne loved to laugh and cherished the time spent with family. Getting together with loved ones was one of her most treasured pastimes. She also enjoyed travelling with her kids and spending just a little bit of time hitting the jackpot on her favourite slot.
Joanne was born on August 15, 1935, in the picturesque village of Ambelaki, Greece, she was the beloved daughter of Anastassios and Vassiliki Letros and sister to Stavroula, John, Stathy, and Anastassia.
At a young age, Joanne embarked on a journey to Canada, where she worked tirelessly to provide for herself and her family back home. She was instrumental in ensuring that most of her siblings got to Canada to settle and live. Her strong work ethic and infectious personality helped her forge deep friendships, leading her to find her perfect match, her husband Kostas Doulos (deceased). Together, they created a beautiful life and a loving family. With her husband back of the house and Joanne, front of the house, their restaurants fed thousands of happy patrons throughout the years.
Joanne had a unique ability to brighten every room she entered, and her direct, charismatic approach to life endeared her to all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
