Jessica Ainslee Desjaree Volk
February 24th 1993 - October 6th 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jessica Ainslee Desjaree Volk on October 6th 2024 at the tender age of 31. Beloved daughter of John and Karen Volk, dear sister of John - Francis (Destiny), loving aunt to Maddie and John Collyn, cherished granddaughter of Hazel and Frank MacPhail, niece of Christine and Carl Gallant and Andrea and Majid Samadi and dear cousin of Jordan, Sarah, Samantha and Sophia. Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Edith Volk. She will be deeply missed by many other family members and dear friends.

Jessica was creative, compassionate, loving and generous. She enjoyed listening to music, gaming on the computer, skiing, doing paper crafts such as origami and quilling and cooking. She loved attending concerts with her friends and attending family social events. She liked visiting small Ontario towns where she would browse through vintage stores, quirky art galleries and bookstores. She loved sushi, Indian food, time up north in Fenelon Falls, Star Trek and all things Terry Pratchett.

Jessica cared deeply and passionately about those who were less fortunate and strived daily to make their lives better through small acts of kindness. She was a strong advocate for equity and fairness and often would challenge the status quo. She was very proud of her Inuit heritage.

While her life was short, she has left an imprint on the lives of those who knew and loved her most. She will remain forever in our hearts.

Cremation has already taken place and a Reflection of Life will be held at a later date. Donations, if desired, may be made to a charity of your choice or to Eva's Initiatives for Homeless Youth.
