Obituary of Mr. Mylvaganam Balasubramaniam
Mylvaganam Balasubramaniam aka Bala/Thambo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, big brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024 at the age of 84.
Born on December 1, 1940, in Talawakelle, Sri Lanka, one of 4 brothers and 7 sisters, Bala was a devoted family man whose warmth, strength, and generosity touched the lives of everyone he met. He now goes to join his late brother, sister, and parents.
Bala is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Chitra; his son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Valerie; and his cherished grandchildren, Xavier and Lily. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 6 sisters, his brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
A celebration of his life will be held on October 5, 2024 at Ebenezer United Church, with visitation starting at 10am and the service at 11am, followed by a reception at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ebenezer United Church or The Stephen Lewis Foundation in his honour.
