Obituary of Mr. Gerard Sinkia
It is with great sadness to announce that Gerard "Gerry" Albert Sinkia (Dean) passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 19, 2024 at the age of 78 in Toronto. He is survived by his loving wife Emelita (Gairey) Sinkia, their daughters Lisa and Tina, grandchildren Dominique, Shayne, Quinn, Troy, Sydnei and Myles, son-in-law Michael, brother to Carol, Claire, Patricia, Richard, Robert, Arlene, Denise, Grace, Gillian and Albert, numerous extended family and friends and preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ivy Sinkia and eldest brother Slayde.
Gerry will be dearly and sorely missed. He will be remembered for his love of horses, the dedication and hard work to public service, his devoted and caring nature towards family and friends, a father figure, always reaching out to those near and far especially his siblings and distant family. Gerry's friendly demeanor and smile was very welcoming, he truly enjoyed the moments spent with his friends and nephews, and always loved visiting his beloved place of birth Trinidad. Gerry cherished the talks he was able to have, especially over the past few years, they were extremely precious and dear to his heart.
At this time he will be cremated and to honor his wishes there will be no funeral service. A private gathering to be held later this year.
We invite you to celebrate Gerry's memory in your own way and know that he will be with us all in spirit. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Donate | Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all for your care and compassion during this difficult time.
