Obituary of Mr. Reynaldo Mercado
Reynaldo Baltazar Solis Mercado, 77, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away on August 15, 2024. Born on January 06, 1947 in Manila, Philippines, he was the beloved son of Mariano and Marietta Mercado.
Reynaldo was known to all as someone who could light up a room with his humor and wit. He had an uncanny ability to find joy in the simple things and always knew how to bring a smile to those around him. Whether it was through a well-timed corny dad joke or a light-hearted comment, he reminded us that laughter truly is the best medicine.
Beyond his sense of humor, Reynaldo was a dedicated machine operator, he took great pride in his work and opted to work the late shift so he can be there to care for his children during the day. He was a loving husband to Gloria, a devoted father to Raymond, Grace and Russell, and devoted grandfather to Jamie, Kaylee, Logan and Emmet.
His love for children and his family was well-known, and at family gatherings he could often be found entertaining his young neices and nephews by showing off his unmatched magic skills or by teasing them and telling them jokes to bring laughter and a smile to their faces. He was also known for sharing funny stories with family and friends.
Reynaldo is survived by his spouse, Gloria, children, Raymond, Grace and Russell, grandchildren, Jamie, Kaylee, Logan and Emmet, and his siblings, Flordeliza, Pacita, Rolando, Corazon, and Rodolfo. He also leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will join his other siblings, Susana, Adelina, and Teresita on their journey towards Jesus Christ.
Reynaldo will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories we share and the laughter he inspired.
